I remember your writing well, from before I was nuclear annihilated at DKos on Easter Sunday 2005.

creve coeur is a great nick. It means "broken heart." It also is the name of town in Missouri and Illinois. If I remember correctly, it was also the name of the home city of the noble giants in Stephen R. Donaldson's great double trilogy The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, Unbeliever.  The giants were all slaughtered by the ravers in Vol. 2, the Illearth War.

I see you wrote about chess, astronomy, voter fraud, 9/11 theories, geopolitics, etc. We have much in common.

Oops. I just remembered...the Giants' city was Coeurcri, cry of the heart. Never mind.

"Il pleure dans mon coeur"

It rains in my heart.

Il pleure dans mon coeur
Comme il pleut sur la ville ;
Quelle est cette langueur
Qui pénètre mon coeur ?

Ô bruit doux de la pluie
Par terre et sur les toits !
Pour un coeur qui s'ennuie,
Ô le chant de la pluie !

Il pleure sans raison
Dans ce coeur qui s'écoeure.
Quoi ! nulle trahison ?...
Ce deuil est sans raison.

C'est bien la pire peine
De ne savoir pourquoi
Sans amour et sans haine
Mon coeur a tant de peine !

Paul Verlaine

seems not a little coincidental; the Washington Post piece about me came out that Saturday.

Any chance you were involved in one of the numerous flame wars surrounding that debacle?

If I can't rant, I don't want to be part of your revolution

Nope. I was banned over a dispute in a Terri Schiavo diary. Under my old nick, you and I exchanged a large number of mutual 4's and pleasantries. I supported you against detractors in the flap over the WaPo piece.

I actually started on DKos in 2002, in pre-Scoop days, before MSOC got there. But I don't like the place any more.
