Okay.

Booman, I want to speak with you, not at you.

I LOATHE BOBBY JINDAL.  You know this.  A candidate I supported was smeared because that was my signature line.  I will vote for anything that can beat him.  To be honest, Foster Campbell should win, and I will vote for him in the open primary.  You see, in Louisiana, we are similar to France.  The first vote is the vote from the heart, as we say.  The second is the vote one makes out of civic responsibility.  Think of French liberals who had to vote for Chirac for fear of an even worse conservative.  You just have to do it.  So for me, I would support Breaux in a runoff, but I would support someone else with the hope that maybe the would make the runoff, but they probably will not.  But I also know my vote will help propel them to something else, especially if others join me.  So Ieyoub or Campbell have my support, but we need a big field in the jungle primary if we want to stop Jindal.

This is why I wrote my diaries on Karen Carter.  You cannot win in Louisiana by waiting for the runoff.  You have to set up the open primary, and set it up in a way that makes the presumed frontrunner fail to win outright.  You have to get them in the runoff, and this means creating a field that splits the state geographically and politically in at least four ways.  Breaux would have cut into the center and took votes from Acadiana, which would have been a huge dent in Jindal's supposed base.  Campbell cuts from the north, and the other Republicans cut into Jindal into his backyard.  Are you following me?

So Breaux is out.  Now who can get that Acadiana vote?  Chris John, who is also DLC.  Ieyoub, unfortunately, is also from LA-07, but he won statewide as Attorney General 3 times.  But he also lost to Blanco and Mary Landrieu, and he is not very fond of them.  Ieyoub is a great guy.  I love him.  He is a Louisiana liberal, much more to the left than Breaux, Blanco and Landrieu.  Let us hope he gets in.  Mitch Landrieu should not run, as he will lose, and then the Jindal goons will use that as ammunition to eject the Landrieus out of the state, as everyone in the state knows that Mary is a liberal who only became a centrist when she ran statewide.  But they still buy into the fiction she performs for us.

I hope my position on Breaux and Landrieu is explained.  Outside of the River Parishes and Orleans Parish, I am a rare breed, so I cannot expect to have my every desire fulfilled in state politics.  But Jindal must be stopped at all costs.

I will vote for anything that can beat him.

Might as well move to PA and vote for Casey.

Be careful what you wish for, you will get it. Quit settling. Walk away from the institutional Donklephant party and support something better, up to and including letting them lose until they move left. Otherwise, you may as well bring back the OLD D south, the Dixiecrats and Jim Crow, which was overwhelmingly a DEMOCRATIC PARTY creation.

Now that a huge vacuum has been created, I will have to wait to see who declares before lending my support to anyone.  I am holding out for Ieyoub.

I voted Nader in 2000.  But I have a mission against Piyush Jindal.  The man is sick and dangerous.  And I intend to do everything in my power to stop him.  And when I say everything, I mean I will do anything.  ANYTHING.

I agree he's bad, but if you're not careful the national party will shove a rightwing aisle crosser, which in my opinion is worse. Look at the damage Casey is already doing.
