Yep.  Soundviews, anyone?  I need to pull them off my mostly dead powerbook, though.  I wish I knew what the kids did with my firewire...

Re work: nope.  Had a couple of emails about work stuff, not one mention of the whole "we need to talk" thing from last Friday, no phone call.

I'm wondering if they're just hoping that I get the message and take steps to line up something else and alleviate the need for any actual discussion.    I would like them to just come out and say it (if they're going to) so I can more actively pursue whatever I'm going to do, without worrying that things might work out and I'll want to back out of something new.

Ack. I was thinking about posting a YouTube of the song "Sitting here in Limbo" this morning.  :)

That's really shitty of them. Can you just call them out on it and say you need to know what their plans so you can make you own?

I'm thinking about that.  What I really wanted to do (before this happened) was start working in the office 2 days a week, and the rest from home, in an effort to better control my workflow (I'm tired of it dawning on people on the 20th of the month that they haven't sent me enough work to meet my contracted hours).

I also have the feeling that they're sorting out what to do now that the senior director of writing has left.  You'd think that would give me more security, wouldn't you?  But then, they were dead slow in August and most of September.

I'll probably give them a call later this morning.  I need to get my irritation in check before I do that, though.

I called and left a message that I wanted to discuss things.

If I don't hear anything back by the end of the day, my CV is going to hit the airwaves, with the thought that I'll launch the full job search assault on December first.   Just in time for the holidays. :)

Good luck, CG -- either way. I've got a lot of confidence that a great CV like yours will get good responses.

It's very cold down here too....way below what is normal for this time of year.  Apparently I have become southernized because I am freezing and huddled under sweaters and throws like an old woman.  Pretty soon I'll be keeping an old used kleenex up my sleeve like my grandmother used to.

We had flurries on Wednesday.  At first I didn't know what it was.  That's how southernized I have gotten.  My first thought was there must be a wood fire somewhere and little flakes of ash are blowing around.

Wow, that is really southernized.

How often does it snow down there, anyway?

We'll get flurries a couple times during the winter.  Sometimes a dusting. Rarely an accumulation which paralyzes the city as you can imagine with barely any snow removal equipment.

Howdy, Luscious.

While I lived in Asheville, where there was probably a bit more snow than you have, 2" closed the schools. They didn't seem to have sufficient snow prep in place either.

Hey Wench!  Good to see you again. Are you still down south with family or have you moved back to the woods?

O honey! I only go down south for the holidays. I come back North ASAP. Can't stand South Florida no way, no how. It's evil.

How've you been?

News from S. Florida is that temperatures have dropped into the 50s this week. Danger of frostbite looms.

I have been having a very unplanned, eventful time of things the past year or so, with much more to come.

I knew you hated S. FL, but for some reason I thought you were stuck down there. Good to hear you have broken free!

Thanks for your support, SN!

I hope 'unplanned, eventful' signifies more positive than negative (or at least some balance).

Well, I got a call back...but it was one of those ones where you realize that someone just accidentally hit the 'return call' button on their phone, and have no idea they just called you and you just here papers being shuffled around and background noise.  D'oh.  :)

To be continued...

I continue to wish you good luck, CG.

'Morning, all -- from the springlike Catskills. It's a balmy 32 degrees at the moment. Woo hoo!
Hope everyone's keeping as warm as you need to.
I'm certainly more able to do that here than in years prior, as I'm now staying in an actual house.
