Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit - Edward Abbey

Now if that's not the perfect picture of slackatude, then I don't know what is. :)

Yep but it doesn't last -- she's a bundle of energy. I think she would happily run for hours at a time if only I would stay outside with her.

I had that problem with George.  He's finally starting to calm down a little bit, but it's a very small little bit.

What gets me the most is when I take him outside, and I'll be freezing out there.  I call George to come back into the house, but he ignores me until he's ready to come inside.

Our dogs go out on their own but Bebo will only stay out a short time before she wants to come back in and be where we are. But walks in the woods are definitely her thing -- she must put in 5 miles for every 1 I do.

Living in this neighborhood I wish I had a fenced in back yard.  I always have to keep an eye out for other dogs roaming through.  George will take out for any dog he see in the yard.  I can't run after him like I used to.

I guess it would be a really bad idea to let him learn the hard way what happens when you pick on a dog that outweighs you by 50 pounds.

She is such a ham!  How do the others stand it?

I think she has the most expressive face and body language of any dog we've ever had. She isn't giving  Sniff any competition as the world's greatest snuggler though.

As for how they stand it, maybe I should take a picture of Giddy doing the wolf-face when she's had enough -- the pull back the lips, expose the teeth, and do the low throaty growl get-outta-my-space face. :)

That would be a funny picture of giddy...

Phoebe the wonder Shih-Tzu is our snuggly dog.  Although Gracie would be more than happy to give Luna competition in glomminess, no impending puppies required.

And Dumbledore just wants food and a spot at the foot of the bed, with the occasional tummy scratch.

It's actually a pretty scary face but then a malamutt is kind of scary without doing anything (as the reaction to her simply walking up to any number of delivery people and bible thumpers has amply proved).

I don't recall much of a reaction to sneaky politicians coming around to campaign.

Well, it is Friday here, and it's raining. Woohooo.  The rain is only supposed to last the morning, but it's at least a proper one.  At the moment I'm watching some very wet Fairy wrens trying to peck bits off soggy kibble.

Luna, of course, has gone back to sleep on the couch.

Yeah, I like painting murals.  The local women's health centre is turning 21 next week.  The mural is part of the celebration/commemoration.

I'll post a photo when it's finished.
