CUT TAXES! End Welfare! Deport EM! Tort Reform!

You are spot on about them being plum out of ideas. The crazy part is how easy it is to argue against the Republicans in this election and it usually only takes a few phrases.

It is not hard to tell someone to look around and see first hand what Republican policies have brought, John McCain is arguing the same GW ideas will save it. Voters are sometimes clueless but they are not that stupid.

I have noticed an increase of venom from Obama haters on comment sections. The ABC article on Obama's speech  today is complete filth down below. They just argue all this doom/gloom crap and Hussein hates America. This works well for the 28 percent who loves GBush but independents are turned way off.

This Bush Nazi salvo was a gift to Obama and his campaign. It took away from the HRC narrative, linked McFraud/Bush together and shows he will fight back, which is especially important in the pundits eyes.
Bush's speech feeds into the strength of Obama's argument of needing real diplomacy in our foreign policy.

Plus, it was outright distortion of history and Obama's stance, which is easy enough for the MSM to tear apart.

I figure that I could train a parrot to say "tax cut", and then try to run it for office as a Republican.

But I guess to the broader point, if you can reduce the party platform to something you can train a parrot to say, it is an indication that perhaps the party platform hasn't been thought out to begin with.

Moyers had a comment on this the other day.

AMY GOODMAN: Why do you think these candidates, the leading candidates of the Democratic supposedly opposition party, do not call for an immediate end to the war, do not call for single-payer healthcare?

BILL MOYERS: Because the media doesn't allow complicated thought to be articulated in ways that enlighten instead of misinform people. Partisans seize upon these sound bites and turn them into--seize upon these speeches, take the sound bites and turn them against the candidates. It's fear. It's fear of being misquoted. It's fear of having your ideas misappropriated.
