More photos from Crawford

Don't let it ever be said that I even remotely resemble anything close to a photographer. Here is proof that I do not :O)
Rick Holcomb (Adastra) took many very fine photos because he bears a very close resemblance to a photagrapher. Probably due to the fact that he actually is one! Unfortunately the photos that he sent me thru email never quite appeared on the other side of the transporter and I will have to rely on Rick's goodwill to try and send them to me again. So for now you'll have to be content with what I took with my daughter's camera.

P.S.
Have I mentioned yet how badly I want to return to Camp Casey?

This dude kept cruising up and down in front of the rally. He was the one who said protesting was fine in San Francisco, but don't bring this trash to Texas.

This is Hadi Fawad, co-founder of the Crawford Peace House. A very excellent man.

All the pictures taken at Camp Casey were before the majority of the crowd arrived so these don't do justice to it. No matter the size of the crowd though, I was overwhelmed with a feeling of unity, renewed energy and direction and I can say that we all were feeling this way.

 Thank you Cindy

Thaks for the pics!  Glad you made it home safely....

I just read on truthout and dKos that some guy ran over some of the crosses, the poice have already apprehended him though -- waiting on more info.

legadillo is up there tonight so hopefully we'll get a full report upon her return to Austin....

Was this intentional? I wonder how much longer the peace can be kept since it seems that some are starting to get a little impatient for Cindy to leave.

It is really a small local road, wow look at the crowd. An awakening for America and an eye opening to all who want to see. Support Cindy Sheehan in her grief and demand for accountability in the Iraq adventure of WH politicrats.

The running over the crosses is pathetic. We must remember though this is ONE stupid idiot. NOT all republicans. There is a thread at Dkos full of the hate word. Can we all be very angry at this idiot, for sure. As hard as it is to feel this somedays I have to remember toHATE the action, NOT the person. I am far from being a christain but will always know that the peaceful protest will always get high percentages of respect. I think the attitude of the officers down there proves just this.
Thank you so much for the pictures. I hope you can come back down supersoling. I think I talked a friend into coming with me. She has a son who is 15 and worried about the eventuality of a draft.

One of the biggest lessons I've ever learned in life is that by responding calmly and reasonably, even when faced with a screaming angry lunatic, it becomes immediately obvious who is the real problem.  It also reduces the sympathy that others might have for the screaming lunatic's position on anything.

The symbolic hideousness of running those crosses over can't be lost on anyone.  I'm glad he's already been arrested, and I hope the sheriffs continue to do such a great job of protecting the protestors.

You are absolutely right, but at this point it's beginning to be tough not to lash out out at those who do such disgusting and immoral things.

Somethin' strange goin' on.  Tried to click multiple times in order to see additional pix, and am always hijacked to microsoft.com.

Is it me, or my computer that's causing this?  Or is it a tres bizarre techno-thingy?

You are on my cell phone under Super.  That ten commandments thing just cracked me up!  It is ten right, not nine commandments....but ten commandments and one of them is thou shalt not kill.  It doesn't say thou shalt not kill unless you say that I have annointed you president or you feel you have a mandate.  I'm pretty sure it just says Thou Shalt Not Kill and in small print below it says this rule applies to everybody no matter who you think you are or who your daddy is.  I noticed in Crawford though that they had left the small print off.  I lost five pounds during my four days at Camp Casey.  I think I'm going to start a new diet craze.......the Camp Casey Diet!

I think the photos look great, you're being to modest supersol...do you know who put together the Faces of the first 1000?  That quietly powerful statement makes the Yellow Rose look doubly tacky.

And that huuuuuuuuge crowd of counter demonstrators is pretty funny.

I hope you do get to return..unless of course bush comes out and meets with Cindy so everyone can go home..yeah right.

Well thanks. I'll remember you said that when Rick's photos go up :O)

I wish I knew who put up the first 1000. The whole place has a deep air of reverence. A historic place.

Supersoling, I still can't quite form any words to express how happy I am for you and all those who are travelling to Camp Casey... and I'm not as calm and reasonable asa others and I can't really hold back my complete anger.

Anger that some asshole ran over a memorial for the dead.

Anger that President asshoat has caused the death of so many and continues to SMILE.

I'm just not in a good spot right now but reading your posts and the humor you still can share... has been a blessing today. Thank you.

but just let me say that I met more than my fair share of BuBu's in Crawford Texas.  I have achieved my lifetime goal of BuBu's met.  I have surpassed my lifetime commitment of telling BuBu's that I need to see the Uniform before I can hear anything they fucking have to say.  God in his generosity has allowed me to surpass my commitment as much as I find necessary in this lifetime.  God Is Great!

Dear Janet,
My anger is very close to the surface too. It's ok, even though things aren't really ok now are they? When I feel near to the edge I think of Cindy and how calm and powerfully dignified she has remained after suffering a loss that I know for certain that I could never bear were I to lose one of my own children.

Hang in there. I'm with you in spirit :O)
We all are.
