Lieberman's Team Starting to Crack

by BooMan
Thu Aug 3rd, 2006 at 09:40:51 PM EST

The Lieberman team is finally coming to terms with the fact that they are going down. They haven't been able to find a sufficient GOTV staff and are thinking about saving their money for the general. Reports out of Connecticut are tense. It looks like Lieberman had put out ruffians to scream at Lamont and elbow a photoprapher in the nose.

I don't think Washington can believe what is happening. They just seem stunned.

There is some interesting shit happening out there.

I'll be up there again this weekend. Depending on the fireworks that happen, I may follow the campaign on Saturday and canvass on Sunday. We'll see.

Hopefully the CT papers report this accurately - they've been pretty shitty as of late.

Hi Psi,

I'll be coming to CT on Sunday. I will be staying with my 83 year old aunt in E Hartford through Tuesday.

I'll be working out of Lamont's W Hartford office. It would be great to meet you. I'll be in W Hartford at 5 PM Sunday. I'm hoping to get my aunt involved-if I am successful she will be a dynamo with all the Senior Groups she participates with. Meeting you and some of the other bloggers have convinced me that you would be the ultimate PR to convince my aunt.

Any chance of seeing you?

I don't know, are you sure you want to get her involved? I mean, the Lieber Youth seem to be targeting senior citizens now.

I for one welcome our new Twitter overlords. @Omir55

I don't think Washington can believe what is happening.

That alone is almost reason enough to ditch Lieberman. It's time DC realized this is a government of WE THE PEOPLE.

I don't think anyone was concerned with programming the voting machines in CT six months ago. Now, it may be too late. Woohoo, at least one victory does seem to be in sight....

Too bad we can't follow it up with a rejection of Casey!  Then the party would really listen to us.

I'm sorry, Booman, I just couldn't resist!  :>)

I'll never forgive Lieberman for the way he played patticake with Cheney in the VP "debate" in 2000. It is really a pleasure to see this karmic kickback!

And I wouldn't be so sure that Lieberman wins the general.

Lamont's radio ads are running on Air America in NYC.  Joe self-incriminates in his own words-devastating and honest.

From the firedoglake link:

A large man, around 50 years old or so, then started screaming at Ned, "Are you an Al Sharpton Democrat, or a Bill Clinton Democrat?"

Since these goons are obviously scripted, we have to assume that this comes straight from Lieberman headquarters -- racist innuendo about as subtle as anything that came from Jesse Helms or Tom Delay. This is  from a guy who's supposed to be one of us? How low can you go, Joe?

FDR's response to progressive demands: "I agree. Now go out and make me do it."

This is the best news I've read all day.  I hope the MSM can not ignore this, I know they'll try.  Soon enough, we'll have another distraction-story plastered everywhere, I'll bet.  There's too much bad news for the powers that be.

Tom Delay has come out and said he would vote for Lieberman.  That should scare the hell out of the voters in CT.

Comcast - the nation's largest cable company - announced they would broadcast ImpeachPAC's TV ad criticizing Joe Lieberman in advance of Tuesday's primary in Connecticut.

We produced a shorter ad that packs a more direct punch. It's called "Lie and Die" and you can watch it here: Lie and Die

"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."

Those fucking idiots over at ImpeachPAC. What are they trying to be like, the Green Party of the blogosphere?

I saw the ad they were looking to air. Not impressed (unless this is different).

Yes-

My aunt is incredible. She has managed to go to places most Americans never heard of before. She went to China within a year after Nixon. She's been to Armenia, Turkey, Greece and anywhere else that has what she calls an "exotic" culture. She is feisty as hell and I do not plan to let her out of my sight while I am there. If any Lieber idiots try ANYTHING I'll gladly use my pepper spray with no apologies. OH, my pepper spray was a gift from NH police for the Millenium-so I will not get in legal trouble!

Besides - due more to my physical condition, rather than hers, we'll just be doing office stuff. I'll be phone banking, and Caleb has said he'd find something to do for her where she is working with others, which makes her happiest.
