Bush, from Mt. Vernon:
"I feel right at home here. After all, this is the home of the first George W. I thank President Washington for welcoming us today. He doesn't look a day over 275 years old," Bush said to laughter. Isn't that cute? How about this manure?
"Today, we're fighting a new war to defend our liberty and our people and our way of life," said Bush, standing in front of Washington's home and above a mostly frozen Potomac River. Even if we took Bush at his word, we are only fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here, i.e., we are fighting to prevent another 9/11. That is not fighting to defend our liberty and our way of life. That is fighting to prevent a major terrorist attack. And, I might mention, Iraq is actually making a large terrorist attack much more likely. So, it appears we are either fighting to ensure another 9/11 or we are just idiots.
