Eric Alterman Arrested at Debate

I'm amused to learn that The Nation columnist Eric Alterman got arrested at tonight's Democratic debate after he crashed a closed party and raided the open bar. Considering how boring these early crowded debates are I can't say I blame Alterman. But, still, I would have stayed home and watched The Sopranos. Bobby got killed, Silvio's in a coma. Tony's in hiding. Good stuff. Speaking of which, my local news reported that a man woke up today after a 19 year coma. I guess that means he missed the end of Reagan's presidency and every thing since. Someone is going to have to explain this current President to him. I have a feeling that he won't be pleased.

You should check on the guy who woke up from a coma. I read an article online about that, but the guy lives in Poland, not the U.S.

This guy goes into a coma in 1987 and doesn't wake up for 20 years. The first thing he asks is, "How's Reagan doing?"

"You mean Ronald Reagan?" the doctor says. "He's dead."

The guy falls back onto his pillow with a moan.

"What's the matter?" the doctor says.

"If Reagan's dead that means that idiot Bush is president."

This probably says more about me than anything....but after reading the headline "Pole wakes up from 19 year coma" all I could think was...wow, that viagra is good stuff.

Booman I have to disagree with you and tampopo. This guy, 20 year coma, is my s-i-l's cousin. I've never met him and don't know him, but I think he could give a shit about what's going on in the world.

I understand where you're going with this, but it's not nice to fool mother nature, or use the infirm to make a point.
