Deep Thought (hate ed.)

by Steven D

I haven't heard of any fake anthrax letters being sent to McCain headquarters or Fox News, have you? But then I haven't heard of any liberal gunmen mowing down innocent church goers recently either. However, we must always remember it's the satanic liberal haters who are tearing this country apart.

The damage of McCain-Palin's incitement

..the Rev. Arnold Conrad, past pastor of the Grace Evangelical Free Church. His prayer before McCain arrived at the convention center blocks from the Mississippi River appeared to dismiss faiths other than Christianity and cast the election as a referendum on God himself.

"I would also pray, Lord, that your reputation is involved in all that happens between now and November, because there are millions of people around this world praying to their god -- whether it's Hindu, Buddha, Allah -- that his opponent wins, for a variety of reasons," Conrad said.

Update: Thinkprogress expands the Pastor's quote and notes Fox News reported on it:

Quote expanded:

And Lord, I pray that you will guard your own reputation, because they're going to think that their god is bigger than you, if that happens. So I pray that you will step forward and honor your own name with all that happens between now and election day."

Thinkprogress links to Fox Video:

Can we spell Hate. Whatever happened to God created all creatures great and small.... Whatever happened to the teachings of Jesus?

Guess that's why we've had religious wars.

Will prominent voices make themselves heard like over the airwaves. Come forward before the civil war begins.

Well, "You can't vote for war and disown the results"

After reading the extended quote I gotta say, Conrad is STUPID, just unbelievably STOOO-PID! When Obama wins, what's he gonna say? "Woe be upon us, we are forsaken by our god. All the other gods ganged up and beat our god?"

He'll just blame it on the power of Satan.

And raise the amount he asks for donations.

Whatever happened to teachings of Jesus like, "thou shalt not tempt the Lord your God" or "the rain falls on the just and the unjust"?

This is even better than Swaggart's fundraising threat that if the goal was not met, God would take him home.

How about Christ's formula for living a good life: love God with all your heart and all your soul and your neighbor as yourself.  Pretty pithy advice if you ask me, but pretty hard to do.  So simple and so sublime. Do we even need clergy?

All members of the frog pond are special.

Not really. Could we use clergy? Yes. Need? No.

"it's the satanic liberal haters who are tearing this country apart" is a perfectly true statement.

The way this is going, Jesus is headed down the same path as Baal.  Good riddance.
