Palin Goads McCain into Trap

by BooMan
Wed Oct 15th, 2008 at 07:23:59 PM EST

The whole country is increasingly convinced that John McCain is an angry, out-of-touch, crank, and yet people keep goading him to act like an angry, out-of-touch, crank in the debate. You know, people like his running mate:

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is once again prodding John McCain to be more aggressive with Barack Obama, telling ABC's affiliate in New Hampshire that Barack Obama has "called John McCain out."

"Barack Obama even has called John McCain out on this saying, 'Hey, if you've got something to say, say it to my face in a debate,'" said Palin.

"So we'll see tonight if John McCain does that," Palin added in her interview with ABC affiliate WMUR.

Does John McCain have the wisdom to let his female underling's questioning of his manhood go unanswered? Can he afford to look like a giant wimp in front of the whole world? Barack Obama is dying to have John McCain make pointless, meandering, malicious, angry attacks. What do all Democrats want tonight? Simple. We want angry John McCain to show up and talk about stuff that no one gives one shit about. Sarah Palin is a national treasure. She's cutting off McCain's avenues of retreat.

I am going to enjoy this debate. It should be a bloodletting.

Its strange, but all this posturing just reminded me of the South Park Chinpokomon episode.

My fellow Americans, I wish to address the concerns many of us have over the growing number of Japanese military bases forming in the United States. The new Japanese emperor, Hirohito, has made our own children into fighter pilots who will soon fly to Hawaii and attack Pearl Harbor. I spoke with Mr. Hirohito this morning, and he assured me that I have a very large penis. He said it was mammoth, dinosauric, and absolutely dwarfed his penis, which, he assured me, was nearly microscopic in size. My penis, he said, was most likely one of the biggest on the planet. I applaud Mr. Hirohito in his honesty. Thank you.

Oh, fabooj.  She thinks New Hampshire is in the "Great Northwest".  You're not still under the illusion that she's anything but a complete idiot, are you?

Let's not count our chickens before they hatch.  I trust Obama will do well, since he almost always does, but Gramps is going to pull some shit tonight, I'm guessing.

I'm still waiting for him to call Obama "Colored," thereby making himself seem both racist and hilariously old.

Be nice to America. Or we'll bring democracy to you country.

Maybe she just likes to see two guys fight. Good news is Palin is just as dense as John McCain, maybe he could send her to Michigan or Wisconsin.

She's a lot more dense than John McCain!

Wow.

Wow.

Guess there's a shitstorm comin' for sure.  I guess we're going to see why Obama and Biden have been mocking McCain.

Wow.  Talk about locking your candidate in...I suppose that if McCain backs off, no harm done because airspace doesn't do interviews.

Sorry for the dbl post - I had a Palin moment.

Perhaps we'll see McCain turn this into a courage issue - POW, veteran, be careful who you disrespect, etc.  That's what I'd worry about if I were Obama.

You gotta wonder who is calling the shots in the Republican Party?  Mrs. Northern Exposure or Mac the Knife?  Perhaps, we'll see tonight. Go Obama go.  Go!  Go! Go!

have a rookie as a running mate.  It's so obvious that Obama and Biden have been deliberately trying to force McCain into a catch-22: Avoid Ayers and be a big wimp, or bring up Ayers and be a cranky out of touch asshole.  And Palin is too stupid to recognize this obvious move and actually helps Obama and Biden!  What an idiot.  I still say McCain will not bring it up on his own.  He's too smart to walk into a haymaker.  He is probably banking on the moderator to do his dirty work.

I hope Schieffer doesn't give him an assist.  I want to see it come in in a forced manner.

I'm fully expecting Schieffer to give McCain a hand in this one tonight by bringing it up himself.  If he doesn't I'll be very surprised (and my opinion of Schieffer will improve if he sticks to real questions instead of this baseless crap).
