Obama's Grandmother is Gravely Ill

I am terribly sorry to hear this:

Obama flew to Hawaii to visit Madelyn Dunham, 85, who helped raise Obama. The Illinois senator said he left the campaign trail with less than two weeks remaining before the election because his grandmother is ill but alert. Her brother has said she recently fell and broke a hip.

"Without going through the details too much, she's gravely ill. We weren't sure and I'm still not sure whether she makes it to Election Day," Obama told ABC's "Good Morning America" in an interview broadcast Friday.

I hope she can pull through. It would be a wonderful thing to see at the end of one's life. What better gift and what better validation of a life's work could there be?

I read a report..interview with Obama's 83 year old Grand Uncle also with reports from Hawaii it's ...complicating a broken hip with cancer recurrence.

Our prayers are with Obama and especially Grandma...for strength to hang in there for a sweet November.

Well, "You can't vote for war and disown the results"

Heck ... I am praying she somehow makes it until the end of January .. because Jan 20th is the ultimate act .. taking the oath of office .. I hope and pray she can hold out that long

My thoughts go to Barak and "toot" at this time. May she live the rest of her days in peace and comfort knowing what an outstanding man she raised. He is living proof of just how wonderful she must have been.

From personal experience I can say that folks of that age made it through the Great Depression and are tougher than nails and simply don't give up. They're known for their ability to rebound.
I have this vision of Obama surrounded at Inaugaration by a great many 80, 90 & 100 year olds celebrating with us. God willing she'll be there at his side.
