Obama Assassination Plot Stopped

by Steven D
Mon Oct 27th, 2008 at 05:32:32 PM EST

Reuters is reporting that ATF agents have arrested two individuals in connection with a proposed plot to assassinate Senator Obama. The report is a stub so I'm posting it in its entirety:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Authorities have foiled a plot by neo-Nazi skinheads to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and kill black people in Tennessee, the Associated Press reported on Monday.

The AP said the plot had been broken up by agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The Obama campaign had no comment on the report.

Obama, who would be the first black U.S. president, is leading Republican John McCain in opinion polls ahead of the November 4 election.

I seriously doubt this is the only group of crazies out there planning Obama's murder. Security better be very, very good the next week and probably thereafter because the storm of angry racists bent on Obama's death is just beginning.

Update [2008-10-27 17:42:56 by Steven D]: More details on the plot that was disrupted from this report by a local Tennessee TV station:

In court records that were unsealed on Monday, ATF agents say they disrupted the plan by two “skinheads” to rob a gun store in Tennessee and target Obama and a predominately African-American High School.

The planned murder spree would aim to shoot or decapitate 102 African-Americans at the high school, which has not been named.

So, not only Obama was targeted, but 102 African American high school kids were also supposed to die as well. This is very ugly stuff. If I were an African American parent I would hold my kid out of school on Election day and the day after, as well. There are some very angry, crazed, racist individuals with guns out there and an Obama victory may be the one thing that pushes them over the edge into committing race based murder sprees.

Second Update [2008-10-27 17:50:28 by Steven D]: Full AP report here. Apparently the two Neo-Nazi punks involved planned to kill the high school kids first as part of a murder spree they hoped would end with their assassination of Obama.

I'm honestly hoping in four (maybe eight) years, we can look back and say "Obama's Secret Service detail?  There's a bunch of men and women who can get a drink, a job, or a lay anywhere in America in my opinion.  They did their job better than anyone in the Federal Government."

Because I'd sure hate to have to say the opposite of that sentiment for them failing.

It's not just Obama who "will be tested".  All of America will be.

I'm sure McCain will defend all those real Americans at his rallies.

Funny how we aren't hearing of any "crazed black power radicals" planning to kill John McCain and Sarah Palin.  The librul media must be suppressing those reports.  Meanwhile, how much you wanna bet we hear from the US Attorney in Tenn. that no charges for conspiracy to murder will be filed because it was so "unlikely" to be carried out?

John McCain is in desperate need of an ass-kicking.  Needs to be put in his place.

This is of course disgusting and contemptible. I don't see any purpose being served, though, by presenting it as a significant event. There are skinheads and the like all over America who have been "planning" massacres and assassinations for decades. 99.x percent of them are just morons whose only claim to attention is to act all scary.

Could there be a real attempt? Could it succeed? Yeah -- just like school shootings and other murders sometimes succeed. Just like some terrorist might hit a big target again. But let's not make ourselves victims living in fear of every sillyass jerkoff who might have or get some guns. It ain't news that America is full of crazies -- it always was. Let's not feed them with our fear -- we've got some celebrating to take care of next week.

John Hinckley was someone no one ever thought could possibly succeed at shooting a President.  Yet he did.

This is serious stuff and taking it lightly is foolish in my view.  On the contrary, we need to shine as much media light on it as possible.  Because we want responsible people aware of the danger and willing to turn in people who plan to murder political figures or commit school killings.  We don't want a repeat of a time when no one took a deranged man's actions in stalking presidents Carter and Reagan seriously enough to prevent him from shooting 2 people, seriously maiming one for life.

I would think that if there's anything world history has taught us in the last 8 years, it's that anyone can be a martyr.

John Hinkley's father was a friend of George HW Bush. Like Allen Dulles, I don't believe in those kinds of coincidences. (Ewww. Now washing myself for having ANYTHING in common with Allen Dulles.)

(And for those who missed the point - GHWB, former CIA chief, was VP at the time, and stood to benefit from Reagan's assassination.)

As I recall, VP and former head of the CIA George H. W. Bush was having dinner with someone in the Hinckley family that evening of the assassination attempt on Reagan. Small world. As I recall, a relative of Hinckley's was the head of the Mormon Church, the folks who are trying to take away the right to marry for people here in Cali right now.

If you read "Someone Would Have Talked" by Larry Hancock, you get the same vibes. These right-wing groups, sometimes "infiltrated" with federal agents (although it was hard to know which side the agents were on), all with plots to kill JFK.

I think that ruling class wants Obama to remember that he is not the most powerful man in the world.

Sounds like the sort of idiots that would have gotten caught during the gun store robbery or their first attempt at killing. They never would have come close to getting Obama. Unfortunately, I'm sure there some much smarter groups out there that don't want an Obama presidency.

Guys.

This is how it works.

The Secret Service is extremely competent. If Obama is killed, it won't be by outsiders. They are fantastic at following up on threats. They are very skilled at what they do.

Obama will not be taken down by a lone nut or an independent gang. The only way he goes down is if the establishment decides it's time for him to go.

And I fear stories like this are the establishment's insurance policy. The more plots foiled, the more plausible if they do their own plot that they'll successfully be able to blame it on outsiders. People will call folks like me conspiracy nuts. But I tell you - if it's outsiders, the Secret Service will find and stop it. They're that good.

Don't think there really is "an" establishment rather [sino] various interests. But aren't many now relying on an Obama admin for the competence to steer the usa's part in fixing the clusterf*k that is the global economic crisis?

Read some more. Lisa edited a collection of essays, "The Assassinations," (available at Amazon.com) which would be a good place to start.

Understand that while there are competing interests in the establishment, that doesn't prevent one from taking action against another. Or that there can't be an agreement among various interests that a certain leader needs to be replaced. Maybe he'll be "discovered" to have a crooked past in the Maryland statehouse. Maybe he'll be "discovered" to have Watergate in his lap. Maybe his rescue mission in Iran will fail and all the media will declare him "weak". Maybe he'll be "discovered" on the Monkey Business with a pretty girl on his lap. There are endless ways to discredit a class enemy if the class in question has money and power and control of the intelligence community and the press. But sometimes, if he's too good a politician, you just have to shoot him.

Obama walking by himself doen the street in Honolulu just four days ago. Yes, he was there to see "toot" but one has to admit this was also right after they arrested these two nut jobs.

One has to admire a man willing to keep going, putting his life on the line for all of us. May he be kept safe at all times. We need him to guide us to a better America.

Now go VOTE early if you can.
