Recount Thread

CQPolitics has the latest on all the undecided races around the country. The most interesting news? Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich currently holds a lead of three votes over Ted 'Hulksmash' Stevens. I really want to see Begich pull that race out. He'll be an outstanding senator.

Stevens did that?  Or Coleman?

He declared victory and said that although state law permitted a recount he hoped Franken would forgo it considering the cost to the taxpayers. Franken was quoted later wondering aloud what Coleman would've done had the shoe been on the other foot.

As for Stevens, I don't think even the Republicans support him anymore.

Sorry, I didn't read your header.

I just got an email telling me that Begich is now up by 814 votes.  WHOOT!

Booman don't forget about Al Franken in Minnesota, he is in a tight race only 300 votes down before the recount. I hope to send Al Franken some coin soon, to help.

Here's one more resource on election stuff:

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/politics/

There's a number of local election blogs at McClatchy that seem to do a better job of covering the issues related to the recounts, as well as on other local political issues. McClatchy is also a very good resource for national issues, as I found out when their coverage before the Iraq was left every other form of media in the dust.

Just to help people find what I talking about -- regional blogs are at the bottom of the politics section. Here's an Alaska blog:

The national coverage at McClatchy is superior, too.
