New day, new cafe.

To answer Andi's question from the old cafe, I'm still in limbo, but should know something today. Making this Day 6 of waiting and wondering.

Nice little dusting you have there on your woods.  We had a few flakes yesterday too.

I'll let you know when I hear something.  I actually stopped worrying about it yesterday afternoon, and didn't pick back up again until this morning.  The person I need to talk with has been out of the office, yesterday was their first day back in, and they had to catch up on he work that had piled up in their absence and without their second-in-command (who resigned last week).  So our discussion got pushed back to today.

In the meantime, I have some extra work to work on to help offset any downtick in the short-term.  Or at least pay for whatever the dermatologist prescribes for CBtE on Friday.  :)

CBtY is such a sleepyhead today!  I guess you don't have that problem with the pack, do you?

I wish I had that problem with the pack -- especially since Giddy's latest crotchety old dog trick is to refuse to sleep inside at night but decide she has to come in between 3-4 a.m.

As for the rest of it (jobs, doctors, sleepyheads) ... good luck.

I think I'll be taking a nice stress-relieving walk later today.  :)

Good morning Andi and CG.  It's c-c-cold here, mid 20s going up to 35 or so.  Break out the shorts.

It was 22 here.  Ice-cold after those high 60s last Friday and Saturday.

To keep warm, I have given up and started wearing socks (I have a lifelong dislike of sock-wearing) after reading this article.  It seems to be working...dang that scientific stuff.  :)

Interesting article.  Interestingly enough, last weekend we were mulching leaves.  Madame boran had on a winter coat and gloves, I had on my t-shirt.  Go figure.

Y'all sound like a sampling of customers at our local supermarket on Saturday. 60 degrees then, thirty degrees 24 hours later. Today we're struggling to reach 20.
Nice meteor shower last night, though. An absolutely brilliant sky.

Good morning to all. I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties, CG. Limbo's no fun.

Hope you're doing well and keeping warm. We've been pretty cold here but nothing lower than thae mid-20s -- still, that's unusually cold for here. I guess that's the penalty for the gorgeous fall we had.

Yep.  Soundviews, anyone?  I need to pull them off my mostly dead powerbook, though.  I wish I knew what the kids did with my firewire...

Re work: nope.  Had a couple of emails about work stuff, not one mention of the whole "we need to talk" thing from last Friday, no phone call.

I'm wondering if they're just hoping that I get the message and take steps to line up something else and alleviate the need for any actual discussion.    I would like them to just come out and say it (if they're going to) so I can more actively pursue whatever I'm going to do, without worrying that things might work out and I'll want to back out of something new.

Ack. I was thinking about posting a YouTube of the song "Sitting here in Limbo" this morning.  :)

I'm thinking about that.  What I really wanted to do (before this happened) was start working in the office 2 days a week, and the rest from home, in an effort to better control my workflow (I'm tired of it dawning on people on the 20th of the month that they haven't sent me enough work to meet my contracted hours).

I also have the feeling that they're sorting out what to do now that the senior director of writing has left.  You'd think that would give me more security, wouldn't you?  But then, they were dead slow in August and most of September.

I'll probably give them a call later this morning.  I need to get my irritation in check before I do that, though.

It's very cold down here too....way below what is normal for this time of year.  Apparently I have become southernized because I am freezing and huddled under sweaters and throws like an old woman.  Pretty soon I'll be keeping an old used kleenex up my sleeve like my grandmother used to.

We'll get flurries a couple times during the winter.  Sometimes a dusting. Rarely an accumulation which paralyzes the city as you can imagine with barely any snow removal equipment.
