Impeach Obama Now!

by Steven D
Thu Nov 6th, 2008 at 08:48:58 AM EST

The latest fad sweeping the wingnutosphere. Hurry and sign up before Inauguration Day to beat the rush.

On Facebook, an "Impeach Barack Obama" group has attracted more than 700 members and a lively debate about the Democrat's election victory on Tuesday over Republican John McCain.

Another Facebook group of the same name has 160 members and urges others to join because "we might as well get a head start on the impeachment of Obama."

What fun! Here's a few quotes from their members:

Damn dems stole the election like they always do. GOD wanted McCain and Palin in the White House. That's why it's called THE WHITE HOUSE.

Succinct and to the point. I can't think of a better reason to impeach, can you?

It has nothin to do with race it has to do with keeping socialism out of america. There are a lot of Americans out there that do not fully understand the concept of Socialism or Communism which is why they've elected Obama as president. he has voiced support for various unconstitutional programs such as the assault weapons ban, universal healthcare, and various schemes for wealth distribution.

So many ill-informed people. Don't they know socialism and wealth redistribution is prohibited by the Constitution. Look it up. I'm sure it's in one of the amendments somewhere.

I am the first one to cheer for the fact that our country can elect someone to the highest office of the land regardless of race, religion or background. For that everyone can be proud. On the other hand to elect someone with little to no executive experience, no real history on view other than being able to run effective campaigns to get hired, terrible judgement in the selection of his friends, associates and colleague's over a long period of time and whose most loudly trumpeted accomplishment is a community that he organized is in ruins seems to me to be the wrong reasons to have put this man in office. Would that he had been someone like Colin Powell, Alan Keyes, Jesse Helms, or many other people of color that actually have job experience.

Yep, that's right. Jesse Helms, a man of color and experience. Of course his color is white and he's dead, but that shouldn't have disqualified him from running for the highest office in the land. It's about time we had our first posthumous President.

The last time a country fell for a "cult of personality" it resulted in a world war and unthinkable chaos and genocide. It is beyond belief that this country threw a highly qualified, experienced, and completely vetted woman, and a national hero with equal qualifications, under the bus for someone who has ZERO experience, ZERO qualifications, ZERO accomplishments, and with a lifetime of nefarious associations any one of which would have ended the career of any other candidate. And did I say he's an admitted Marxist? Maybe we can find one ethical journalist left to do a story on Obama's trip to Kenya in 2006 as a United States senator to campaign for his first cousin who named his son "Fidel Castro," then ordered the murder of thousands.

Stupid Americans. Always electing Democrats to the Presidency with a known history of murder and mayhem. Why, here's the proof about Obama's genocidal tendencies on YouTube!

I have only one question? Why are so many, so-called Americans communist, muslim, terrorist, Christian murdering, illegal alien supporters? It boggles the mind. I had no idea. Boy do I regret not voting for Sarah "Don't I look good in a towel" Palin and her running mate, what's his name. Yet, I do worry that impeachment may not be a winning strategy for conservatives, especially if Obama and the Democrats in Congress get enough time to impose their one party communist takeover. Heck, one executive order and we're all likely headed for the new American Gulag he's already creating as slave laborers for Obama's "economic recovery program" after he nationalizes every business in America and confiscates all our guns and (oh the inhumanity) bans all our Bibles. So much as I appreciate the idealism of the Real American Patriots who established these Facebook groups, I think their endeavors will ultimately prove fruitless.

However, maybe President Bush can still do the right thing, declare martial law and appoint himself Dictator for life, void the results of the election because of massive voter fraud and arrest every Democratic Senator or House Representative for Treason. Oh, and put Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow and all those other liberal traitors at MsNBC in Gitmo as enemy combatants and waterboard the lot of them while you're at it.

Sometimes to to fulfill your oath as President to preserve protect and defend the Constitution of the United States you have to be prepared to act unilaterally. And let's face it, if there's one thing we've learned in the past eight years, it's that George Bush can do anything Dick Cheney he decides he really, really wants to do. So come on all you Real Americans -- don't waste your time with impeachment websites. Call on our Decider-in-Chief to save the Republic by any means necessary!

Please help us Our Dear Leader! You're our only hope against the hordes of brown skinned Obama communist liberal fascist terrorist baby killers who with with their jihadi friends are coming in January to destroy our freedoms!

Ps. I think he should call it Operation Wolverines, don't you?

I'd laugh, but . . .

Since we're considering posthumous candidates, I'd ask to bring back FDR but of course he's had 4 terms already.

Oh, there you are, Perry. -Phineas -SLB-

Easy to deal with.  A presidential signing statement ought to take care of that minor little roadblock, don't you think?

Well, I'd definitely agree with 'em on one point: there are a lot of Americans that do not fully understand the concept of Socialism or Communism.

Just like Warren Buffet.

Well, I'd guess Jessie Helms ain't very white any more. So even he is probably a commie Muslim queer making jihad in Hell. I urge all good Mercan patriots to go there ASAP and stop him. There's no time to waste.

the lunatic fringe at their finest, at least the ones with access to a computer. the real wackos are out spending their money on guns and ammunition:

Obama's record on firearms triggers run on sales in state:

By midday Wednesday, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation's
"Insta- Check" background check -- required for the sale of a firearm and typically about 8 minutes long -- was jammed with waits lasting more than two hours.

...

Buyers, who were mostly going for assault rifles and handguns...

...

The FBI is reporting that gun sales have increased 10 percent over purchases at this point last year.

it's not like the ussa wasn't the heaviest armed nation already...these folks are scary crazy.

the revolution will not be televised...

I'd say they're scared crazy, dada.

In their case, Obama-as-cipher manifests an projection guided by the usual GOP fantasists/floggers of primal fear. Who's surprised?

I thought guns were a dead issue as far as Democrats are concerned. With the economy, jobs, education, housing, infrastructure and a myriad of other problems to face, trying to gut the Second Amendment seems like it would be way, way, way down on the list. Like, scrolled off the bottom.

And the NRA only has 4 million members? Who knew. From the way they talk you'd think 61 million people voting for McCain, and they all have two or three frends or siblings who didn't vote for anybody, and every single one of them is a member of the NRA.

"Operation Wolverines" is more right than you know.

They honestly believe that Obama is coming for them with his army of thugs and that they have to right to defend themselves with lethal force if need be from his "tyranny".

Expect four years of the blogs, the Village, and the GOP itself praising these "patriots" right up until they decide to "take matters into their own hands to free America from Obama."

There is a core group of people, mostly white men (and I believe they are not an insignificant number) who really and honestly believe this.  I know a few of them myself.  I have heard them talk about the need to stockpile ammunition, to "buy the guns while you can" and be ready because the likelihood that they will need them has increased significantly as of Tuesday.  I know it sounds nutty but it's the god's honest truth. They really believe this shit.  Those people at the Palin rallies are not just outliers and aberrations.  They are an outward manifestation of a core group of very angry and very fearful citizens.  And no one knows what the final catalyst will be to tip them over from simply words into actions.  It will happen.  You can bet the farm on that.

I thought the fifties were over and nobody cared about communism any more. I mean, do these numbskulls even know what the basic tenets of communism and/or socialism are? Doubtful at best.

Somehow I don't think a congress that has a majority the size of the Democrats' is going to pay a bit of attention to any sort of impeachment threat. But, you know Republicans. Reality is just another speed bump on the road to the Glorious Socialist Rich White Peoples' Paradise.

Actually, there's a precedent for a posthumous leader. North Korea's official leader is technically still Kim Il Sung, the Beloved Comrade who actually died in 1994.

And who in the wingnutosphere doesn't secretly yearn for a democracy (necrocacy?) just like North Korea's?

Notice how in the video Obama's Kenyan cousin is repeatedly referred to as Odingo Atemybabies?

For the non-Australians among you, imagine Meryl Streep saying that name in a really weird accent in a movie called Evil Angels. Or Seth Green's band in the early series of Buffy - A Dingo Ate my Baby.

Good one: either it's a spoof video or shows some incredibly naive researching.

BTW: a short list of countries that have both a President and a Prime Minister (apart from Kenya): India, Italy, Ireland, Finland, France, Germany, Portugal, Turkey).
