I blame Sarah Palin and John McCain for attacking ACORN.

It's time for me to pay for the server and the rent.

And, as you can see, I have no ads sold again. In fact, Blogads sent me an email to tell me that the recession is hitting them hard. And that means that I am about to be hit hard. Anything you donate will go to making sure there is at least a glimmer of Christmas cheer around here. Thanks in advance.

Sorry to say I have no money to donate as times are rough here too.  I do have an idea tho, how about putting together a calendar on cafe press, with pictures that have been posted on this site.  I suspect that many would purchase for a Christmas gift, and now would be the perfect time. Put a big ad on the side panel.
I wish you the best.

Thanks Booman. I appreciate you and this place a lot. Here is hoping that the new administration will be able to restore some much needed confidence that will help our people and economy recover. In the meantime, Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah/Happy Holidays, or whatever. ;-))

We need to push for Progressive change, now more than ever.

personally, I am glad that someone's insensitive remark has inspired you to share such wonderful pictures from the Middle East.

PS I actually found the mosque on Google Earth yesterday. It is amazing to see where I walked and where I stood and the things I looked at from that perspective. The feeling is something close to wonder.

I struggled for some time with the decision to post any of my Pakistan photos because they are very personal pictures of real people whom I love and who deserve to have their privacy respected. I have decided to post them exactly because they ARE pictures of real everyday Pakistani people. At present they are not available for public viewing anywhere else but here.

Hi Hurria.  Thanks very much for all the pictures you have been posting...all beautiful.

I concur with BooMan (upthread).  Your pictures are marvelous.  Thanks so much for sharing.  I wish I could share mine taken on a recent trip to Lithuania and Russia.  But, I used one of those old fashioned cameras where one has to get them developed.  (Sigh)

You can ask for a digital copy on disk when you have them developed.
Or scan existing prints - diy at Kinkos, or similar.

Thanks for the nutty link, Booman.  I love this place.

Birds are beautiful, but squirrels gotta eat too.  Of course it's all the Rep's fault.

He's right -

If you're a squirrel, it's a big worry. But it's no problem for the oak tree. They live a long time. They'll produce acorns again when they're ready to.
Cheer up, think of your 'progressive community' as the oak tree surviving all kinds of weather.
