Al Franken Day

by BooMan
Tue Dec 16th, 2008 at 12:31:12 PM EST

Today is Al Franken Day because today is the day when the Minnesota state Canvassing Board "is expected to begin at noon the serious business of ruling on ballot disputes that could decide the U.S. Senate race between Republican Sen. Norm Coleman and DFLer Al Franken."

If all goes according to what is being predicted, Al Franken will emerge today as the vote-leader in the race. Keep up with the latest at Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Dear Santa,

Please add this request to my Christmas wish list-A huge lump of coal in Norm Coleman's stocking.

Since you know who has been naughty or nice I'm sure you will agree that this is a reasonable request.

Thank You,
Mike

Al Franken is not only a Democrat, but a progressive Democrat.  We need more of those.

Pleeeeeeeeeeezzzze Santa!

I'm optimistic about this race, even if it has to be settled in the end in the Senate, I think we'll prevail.

The more I read and see about the remaining issues and how they are most likely to fall, I am also optimistic.  For all his quirkiness and comedic background I have liked Al Franken for quite a long time.  If one takes the time to look past his comedic background you'll find that he's no dummy.  There's more to him than a celebrity looking for a new angle in the spotlight.  I think he would do well for us and Minnesota.

I agree.  Al Franken is 'one-of-us' in the most fundamental of ways.  I mean, Caroline Kennedy would be a great, reliable, liberal vote.  But her mom was Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy Onassis for chrissakes.  What does she know of the lives of ordinary progressives?  Franken is smart as hell, but he's just a dude.

"both" should be "Both".  Imagine, at least three INFT's commenting on this post.
