Paging Jason Altmire

by BooMan
Sun Jun 1st, 2008 at 06:42:45 PM EST

This is for Rep. Jason Altmire of the Pittsburgh area who told Clinton he would endorse her if she could win the popular vote.

The Clinton campaign’s popular vote tally includes zero votes for Mr. Obama in the Michigan primary, where his name was not on the ballot although his supporters were urged to vote for “uncommitted.”

The DNC refused to recognize the results of the Michigan primary at the request of the Michigan Democratic Party. Clinton's tally also excludes the results from Iowa, Nevada, Washington State, and Maine.

Display:
well the Clinton camp's new Ad is touting she won 17 million votes - her new weapon. Nothing has changed. Her efforts to deligitmize Obama's win continues.  (via TPM)

TPM notes:

The ad is a reminder that for the Hillary campaign, the last few weeks of the race -- and the Rules and Bylaws showdown yesterday -- were about nothing other than running up the popular vote in a last-ditch effort to argue that Democrats hadn't rendered a clear verdict on their choice of nominee.

Disgusting.

What is the difference between Rush Limbaugh's Operation Chaos and H. Clinton's continued campaign?

I have a punchline, but the truth is, not much. (One has a Senate seat, one has a boil on his seat.)

She has become such scum.  I cannot wait till she is primaried in New York for her senate seat and no longer has a place in politics.  She is destroying her own previous record(what little there is) and will never come back from this.

There were also at least two states who had popular votes AFTER their caucuses. Clinton has failed to count these votes, either.

FWIW in March Altmire told me he would declare for Obama on or around 4 June.

If I recall, some of the overseas votes aren't counted in Clinton's popular vote scenario. Guam? Some non-states are more statey than others.

Hey, but who's counting.

B-b-b-ut Booman, those states don't matter! [snark]

As frustrated as many of us are with the Superdelegates, the fact that many of them have waited to declare means that a higher % of them will now come out for Obama.  The fat lady has sung, and politicians have pretty good self-preservation instincts.  They know the probability is that we're going to have an Obama administration in January, and they aren't likely to offend him by standing with Hillary now that he has won the most states, the pledged delegate total, and the popular vote.

I keep asking myself what is wrong with that woman? (HRC) She has lost the battle after giving it her all.  OK, time to move on. Continued efforts on her part will  prolong her agony, damage her future political career and push her deeper into debt. Is there some strange and mysterious karma involved for both her and America.  I get the chills just thinking about it.

I think that people imagine too much personal motivation towards Clinton's (mis)behavior here. When you don't find a logical reason for someone's behavior, maybe you're using the wrong logic.

H. Clinton has been pretty much a conservative Democrat. She is not so much an incredible symbol for feminism or liberalism as much as the wife of the former President who himself was no great Democrat. He was a DLC Democrat. He pushed through all sorts of trade deals that gutted the working class. He pushed "welfare reform" which cut away the safety net from America's poorest, making their lives more miserable and mean. He expanded the war on drugs, which criminalized whole swaths of the American underclass.

And Hillary is more conservative than he was. She prays with the wives of men whose jobs are to break unions. Men who want to kill abortionists. The man who ran her campaign, Mark Penn, and her husband, have been working to cut a deal with the sons of bitches who've been torturing and killing union organizers in Colombia.

Her joint bank account is somewhere over $100 million, most of which came from the scumbags who've made our lives miserable.

It's really simple. Clinton is more loyal to her class than to her party. She continues to run for the benefit of her class. She is no better than Rush Limbaugh. God, she's worse. Much worse.

Simple, huh, she's a class act, an uppter class act, without any class. I find the whole line about her being destined/entitled/whatever to be the first woman president of the U.S. deeply sexist and offensive. It means a man can't become president this time around. It's the lady's turn. Actually it's the turn of the ex-president's wife. I'll give her credit though. She's shown everyone that a woman CAN and WILL become president. Thank you Hillary Clinton. Now let's get the Obama show on the road.
