Holy Crap!! My database is totally flamed from all the incoming traffic today. What's going on in the real world? I've been battling gremlins.

Display:
Good to see you back.
I figure it was when kos linked on the front page that it all collapsed (in addition to all the others).

I've been battling gremlins.

Of the malicious, troll kind?

No - I think it was the link from the NRO - the National Review Online - that might have sunk him. They quoted his "whitey/why'd he" stuff, as did several other big sites today. Pretty wild. ;-)

I remember once I got a whole bunch of hits at my blog for something someone linked to. It was exciting, like a bunch of Hell's Angels riding through my sleepy little town.

Ditto, good to see you back Booman! Your blog was impossible to access all day yesterday. Hope you got those gremlin critters.

Geez, it takes me twenty minutes to get on this site. Now what do I do to get the free money?

I see Jeralyn's complaining about too much traffic too. What gives? Is Operation Chaos exposing itself?

Wow. I hope he's okay.

I was thrilled to see Ted Kennedy talking and walking after successful brain surgery. What a miracle that we've come this far.

Whew what a ride to get through the front door!
Glad I don't have to blame Bill Clinton for the problem, must be a sign of his waning power that he wasn't the first person I thought of as the perpetrator.

Glad to see the site back again.  I tried getting on almost all day and kept getting timed out.  Them gremlins was really after you.

It's very very uncool. I actually cited that guy as a source in the Plame affair when GOPers were spouting their talking points. Now it's clear he was a very unreliable source to quote.

Booman, why would he go to all the trouble to use your post to further his story, IF...IF...that troll Larry knew the exact lines in the fake video that Michelle spoke WHY didn't he post them himself....?
What a loser he is, worse than I gave him credit for....

Honestly though, I plurked about this site being down almost all day.  You need new servers my friend.  If I ever get some extra cash, I'm going to donate it to you for new servers.

No Quarter (Larry Johnson) referenced your site in an article regarding the so-called Whitey tape. It could have been a lot of trolls. I could not access yesterday afternoon/evening at all.
by prajna32 on Tue Jun 3rd, 2008 at 08:24:18 AM EST
Here's what TBogg says:

"This must be a great relief to the folks at No Quarter having finally shared this shocking revelation as well unburdening themselves of the curse of credibility all in one grand face-plant in a pile of horseshit."

Great relief, indeed.

we'll be doing a server upgrade sometime soon...as soon as possible.  In the meantime, expect outages any time traffic is hight.  The database is too full to handle processing under high traffic stress.
by BooMan on Tue Jun 3rd, 2008 at 12:04:01 PM EST
won't have an impact on your plans for a well-deserved vacation.  I'm sure Steven D &c can handle things here while you're gone.

PS..always good to see you have high traffic count..
by americanforliberty on Tue Jun 3rd, 2008 at 12:15:12 PM EST
Whew...I was afraid it was some kind of server attack.  I mean, I can see not getting on for a couple of hours, but I've been unable to get on since yesterday afternoon.

I just got to vote for Barbara Lee and against a nasty rent control measure and now I find Booman back...it's going to be a good day.
