Maureen Touts a PUMA

by BooMan
Sun Jun 29th, 2008 at 12:45:06 AM EST

Maureen Dowd inflates one nut into a whole column.

Carmella Lewis, with her Hillary T-shirt and Hillary placard, came all the way from Denver to make sure there would be plenty of ambiguity, duality and ferocity in Unity...

...When it was Obama’s turn to speak, Carmella announced loudly, “I wish I had ear plugs.” Then, as Obama tried to ingratiate himself with the Hillary partisans in the crowd by saying that because of the New York senator, his daughters “can take for granted that women can do anything that the boys can do and do it better and do it in heels,” Carmella put her fingers in her ears.

As Obama tried to curry favor with Hillary, looking over at her sensible, sturdy shoes and marveling, “I still don’t know how she does it in heels,” Carmella tore up a tissue and stuffed it in her ears.

When Obama pandered with a line about how he wouldn’t “perpetuate a system in which women are paid less for the same work as men,” she put her hands over her tissue-stuffed ears.

“Maybe she’d like what she heard if she listened,” sighed Axelrod.

When Obama talked about moving beyond “all the petty bickering,” as Hillary robo-nodded at his side and CNN’s Candy Crowley applied pre-broadcast lipstick above her, Carmella glared at people applauding.

Afterward, Carmella got her idol to autograph her sign, telling the smiling Hillary, “You’re going to be the next president.”

She told The Times that she and her friends were all voting for John McCain and that Hillary was just doing what she had to do.

“But I have a gut feeling,” she said with macabre faith, “that something’s going to happen so that she becomes the nominee.”

They're going to keep writing these PUMA pieces because they have no original insights into anything that they can offer. One delusional woman trumps an entire unity party.

I like to call them 'Last Living Democrat Voting For McCain' or 'LLDV4M's.

The MSM loves these stories.   Of course, the real story is all the people coming in the other direction -- former republicans now ready to vote for Obama.

Unfortunately the MSM is ignoring the rush in one direction and focusing instead on the trickle going in the other way.

Of course, this is the same Media that'll dig up the Last Person who hasn't made up their mind one day before the election.  You can find someone saying anything if you look hard enough.

It's not news but that's how it goes.

"You're going to be the next president."??

Should be titled "Maureen Dowd Astounded by Delusional Sycophant." Not that that's news.

Who gives a fuck about Maureen Dowd's opinion, anyways? I feel like it's been a while since anyone cared.

... as Hillary robo-nodded at his side and CNN's Candy Crowley applied pre-broadcast lipstick above her...

And what was Queen Maureen doing at this very time? Polishing her tiara? Or pulling her tight pantyhose out of her crack? What a nasty woman with absolutely NO class.

Grow up Maureen...

Mo Dowd is so last election.
however, you left out the best line in her column, when, speaking of Hillary and barack chatting about various things:
"They did not, however, commiserate about Bill Clinton, who is in a self-pitying meltdown about not being Elvis anymore..."

And by putting her in this column, we give Dowd  more google fodder...she is simply not worth it. There was a time when her humor was biting and she was trying to make consistent points. Now she's just inane.

Anyone check whether this woman had actually ever contributed to Clinton? Last one that made big time press hadn't. Did Dowd ask? Well, that would require reporting.

" How many Clinton supporters will be duped by this group?"

irrelevant. the major impetus of this is to keep the "schism"...or the appearance of one...front and center in the msm, whether it's BS or not.

l would have to posit that this post is evidence that, to date, it's been successful.

the tragedy is that the public in this country rely primarily on th "sound bite" news. Thus, by giving the goopers just love her posings. the punditry love it and you can bet your ass that this is the stuff that will be transmitted via the talkies.
so, what she apparently desires is to give the goopers another "sound bite".

The odd and unusual always get attention.  Presented as such, there isn't a problem.  This piece doesn't quite make that clear.  Is she attempting to portray disunity?

I wonder if anyone ever checked to make sure Carmella is even a registered Democrat. Anyone who travels all the way from Denver to NH just to do what she did..is just on issue nut who apparently has a lot of spare change to travel. Has Carmella given the full $2300 dollars to Help Hillary retire he debt?

this sound like a Karl Rove stunt.

Within a week of Clinton's concession the polls were reflecting that Obama had a statistically larger lead among women than Kerry had over Dubya. About double, as I recall.

What this says is that these stories about Clinton supporters who won't support the Democratic candidate are statistically less relevant than in past elections. The question I have is why wind-surfing in purple shorts is such a turnoff for female voters.

From CIA-hack Gloria Steinem's op-ed on the eve of the New Hampshire election there has been an attempt to stir up this sexual divide. I salute Hillary's Agency allies who were pushing this, along with the racist garbage that the likes of Larry J. have been spewing. You've been working your fingers to their nubs on the Mighty Wurlitzer, but it just doesn't seem to be working.

That's the third major "leader" in the movement shown to be a plant by the Republicans. One was a porn site operator. There was Texas Ed Hale, the libertarian who never gave a dime to Clinton. Now this woman, demonstrably a McCain supporter.

Where's MSM doing the journalism to ferret these folks out? If McCain can scam the media that badly, and no one even bothers to google? That kind of reporting can be done in a bar or Starbucks! They don't even bother to do it.
