The Fix Is In, Pt. II

I suppose one would have to be a dedicated hermit not to know that Barack Obama is making a tour of the war zones this week. The networks sent all three anchors, the troops are cheering for him (Except of course for the generals, who fear for their jobs and reputations.) and the bullshit media  hoopla is almost deafening. (Or at least it would be if I actually turned on my TV and allowed the hypnotism to do its work.

However...in case you have any doubts about who has been tapped to be the new King, please contrast that extended pre-coronation tour with the plight of the other team that has been tabbed as the designated patsy in this little sham.

From the Manchester Union Leader a nastily right wing paper for generations.

In Manchester last night, there was just one reporter and one photographer waiting for McCain as his plane -- a white, blue and gold Boeing 737-400 emblazoned with his campaign slogan, "Reform, Prosperity, Peace" -- touched down on the Wiggins Airways tarmac.

The Vietnam War veteran limped as he made his way down the metal stairway, a leather briefcase in one hand and a cell phone in the other, and walked straight into an awaiting Chevy Suburban.

Note the germane words here:

"...just one reporter..." and "limped".

Mmmm HMMMM!!!

M'man McCain is the first presidential candidate ever to succeed in being a lame duck before the conventions even convened.

Quite an accomplishment.

Congrats, mac.

Yer playin' yer part well.

The world needs supporting actors jes' like it does stars.

SEE ya, chunky!!! This is no country for old tomato cans

AG,

Without holding my breath, I'm still waiting for your banker's letter of guarantee on that bet you forgot all about.

No hard feelings man. Peace. I'm sending you over a truckload of facial tissues for your tears.

HRC's Time chart (on her presidential ambitions) expired in 2002. Your candidate went down all by herself.

McCain, who can't be politically reinvented no matter how hard they try, is offering a brand that's seven years past its best before date.

Get on board. Standing on the sidelines is not an option in this historic race.
The least you can do is to reserve your right to whine so you'll need to vote for one of the four: McCain, Barr, Nader or Obama.

Otherwise don't whine.

Obama's TC (time chart) was on a high to take this thing as early as 2003...when few knew of him. So it's not the "fix is in" that you claim to observe.

All members of the PTB are following Obama's lead.

Btw. My TV has been unplugged for the past 4 years.

Well, "You can't vote for war and disown the results"

Turn off this?

C'mon Arthur.  Our soldiers are young, too.

Do you really think the media can let this horse race be over in mid-JULY?

There's a lot of viagra to be sold between now and November, and letting the circus end is not the way to do it.

A stunning reverse!  Darth Vader coming back from the dead! (and all that).

So maybe it won't be McCain . . . Hey!  Open another can of Presidential Candidates (TM)!

It will be thrilling!

It will be heart warming!

It will be tacky.

"Bet on it."

PS.  Check out Stan Goff over at Feral Scholar.  The candidates may not all be the same, but the job description is, and the real issues are not on the table.

YOU see the game, don't you.

But of course...as is the case in all upright Hollywood myths unless it will cost too much...the young hero wins in the end.

Yup.

Just turn the soap opera off now and save some electricity.

Natural choice and embodies leadership

(Haaretz) - To the Israeli establishment, McCain seems like the natural choice. With his white hair, expression lines and combat experience, he embodies the Israeli concept of leadership - a kind of American version of Yitzhak Rabin or Ariel Sharon. If McCain continues Bush's policies, Israel will benefit from the term of another U.S. president who understands its needs.

The fix is in ... you bet on it! Israeli funds will swamp K-street and US media will do the rest.

I think not, Oui.

Not this time.

Number one...there is a sea change a'comin'. It's generational.

And number two?

The old farts done been bad for business.

ALL of 'em.
