today he tried to tell the vfw that the passing of the new gi bill, was his doing:

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) once again tried to steal credit for the 21st Century G.I. Bill, which McCain had vigorously opposed, even submitting his own proposal to undermine the chances of success for the main bill. Today, McCain told the audience of veterans that he "sought a better bill" and declared the final passage of the GI bill "the result" of his efforts...

l don't think they bought it though, as unlike sen webb, he's not getting an award:

tomorrow the VFW will award Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA), the original sponsor of the GI Bill, a gold medal and citation of merit for his leadership on the measure. Lisicki praised Webb as the "champion" veterans needed:

The VFW had been pushing for a new GI Bill for 10 years. We had called, written, testified, and met with every (congressional) member and staffer. We were greeted with sympathetic ears, but what we needed was a champion in the corner of America's newest `Greatest Generation.' We needed someone who could reason and negotiate across party lines like a gentleman, yet push through obstacles with bulldog tenacity. That someone was Jim Webb.

McCain also promoted his radical veterans health plan, which the VFW actively opposes.

But the fact remains that McCain is so power mad, so unhinged at the fact that he isn't getting quite the fluffing that he feels he is due, his campaign has continued it's collision course with the title of "most sleazy, dishonest and scummy campaign ever".

And you can bet your ass that this will continue to be the best kept secret in all of this country's mainstream corporate media.  The only ones who will notice or really give a damn will be those wild-eyed, arm waving, hate-mongering DFH's on those nasty, nasty leftist, communist, islamofascistlovin' blogs.

And what are the chances that we will all be sitting around next year reading Bob Somerby rehash all the lies and false narratives that got John McCain elected and vowing "never again will we allow this to happen"?

The only way that any of things will ever get reported on is if the Obama campaign addresses them directly and forces the media to address the issue.  And the way things are looking I'm beginning to wonder how much longer the Obama gang thinks they can keep their powder dry.  The media will never, never, never report this kind of stuff.  We might as well just get that idea out of our heads.  It just ain't gonna happen.

In a real fight, there's nothing wrong with punching someone in the balls. . . deliberately and repeatedly. As long as you make sure you're hitting the Family Jewels and not just throwing flinch-inducing "boundary shots" that instinctively make people take a defensive posture - the latter being biggest cudgel in the Republican arsenal.
