How to Whack a Liberal

Jonathan Weisman of the Washington Post screws over Obama in today's column on the issue of abortion rights.

How it reads:

On paper, this campaign looks fairly standard. Obama, an Illinois Democrat, is staunchly in favor of abortion rights, while McCain, an Arizona Republican, has compiled a solid record over four Senate terms of opposing abortion.

How it should read:

On paper, this campaign looks fairly standard. Obama, an Illinois Democrat, is staunchly in favor of abortion rights, while McCain, an Arizona Republican, has compiled a solid record over four Senate terms of opposing abortion rights.

It's a subtle difference that makes all the difference in the world. It would be more obvious if it said:

Obama, an Illinois Democrat, is staunchly in favor of abortion.

That would be a profoundly inaccurate and unfair way of characterizing Obama's position. The decision to exise the word 'rights' from what McCain has opposed over four terms in the Senate is equally inaccurate and distorting.

How quickly lazy MSM choose to forget and are overlooking McWar's lies and lack of integrity;

Note to Obama:  This is an election. Nice guys finish last.

The Washington Post isn't much better than the Washington Times these days.  The same thing can be said for the NY Times and the NY Post.  If it weren't for the internet, we wouldn't be getting legitimate news from ANYBODY.

Can't get outraged on this one. The default phrasing, on media from Fuxnews to NPR to the New Republic, is:

McCain, an Arizona Republican, has compiled a solid record over four Senate terms as pro-life.

I'd say Obama got off easy this time. Once the Dems/liberals let the war-loving, judicial-murder-loving, life-support-system-destroying gun nuts own the "pro-life" brand, it became too late to worry about how the media treats the abortion rights issue. We lost, it was our fault, the chickens come home to roost.

FDR's response to progressive demands: "I agree. Now go out and make me do it."

I find the comments on the Wapost site to be just stunning, the Reps. are all over this one, few Dems are posting, there are a few but outshouted by the right.  They love (Reps.) to give fetuses rights but no one else right up to the death penalty and certainly not those in Gitmo or those who oppose any bushian policies.
