Hi Cabin Girl! I've been away at CE classes for a couple of days. The cafe looks mighty quiet. I suppose the back-to-school rush is occupying the time of those with young ones still at home. Wednesday was move-in day at the IU dorms. I won't be wandering by there for awhile. The poor kids will be in serious gridlock for a few days and its a long walk from the dorms to the local watering holes.

I noticed something magical on the way home from Indianapolis earlier this afternoon. Every gas station I passed for over 20 miles had repriced at exactly the same rate, 3.73, no exceptions. Wow! What a coincidence! </snark>

Hi ID!  I thought I might have scared people off with my dumb picture up top...

I used to live in a college town...we would all breathe a sigh of relief every May, and depression would set in by Labor Day with the return of the students and associated traffic jams and bar overcrowding.  :)

3.73 a gallon?  We're down to $3.43 here.  Sadly, that seems like a bargain compared to $4.18 gas.

Good morning everyone!

It appears motels/hotels are starting to fill up around here because of Gustav.  From the tracking predictions, I'm not too worried about it hitting us.  We might get some wind and rain, but I think for us, it will be nothing more than a usual hard showers we get here.

Everything seems to be running normal here.  We've got rels here for a week and George and I are just trying to stay out of the way.

Hope everyone is doing fine.

Driving up to Bar Harbor this morning and have checked out suggestions made by you and CG the other day. The forecast looks great - no Gustav effects here. Hope you don't get too soaked. If you're looking for something a little more chi-chi, George's in downtown Bar Harbor is really nice. (Many moons ago, I stayed at the Ledgelawn Inn on my honeymoon, and we  had dinner from Georges packed up -plates, candles, silver, glassware, and all- to eat on the balcony of our room.)

Is it chilly up there this morning?
