Good morning, CG!
Well, as long as no one is on the no-fly list...

Someone finished a sweater this weekend:

Poor picture quality, unfortunately. You can barely see the labor intensive ruffles.

I believe it was quite a challenge, some frustrations under way and lots of satisfaction on completion.
But it really looks great.

It looks fabulous!  No wonder everyone wants her to make them one next!  We must do a knitapalooza diary this week so she can show off her work!

I just have the button bands and ruffles left to do on mine.

Thank you all for your compliments!  Ask has jumped the gun a bit since I had to frog the buttonband and do it all over again - can't have lopsided buttons after all thae work! We'll have to take a better pic now. It was a lot of fun to do, but I am not taking any orders. Can't wait to see CG in hers!

That is a very nice model wearing a beautifully chosen color, sweater.
Now Andif, If that is one of your shots at the top, it is terrific. If it is not yours, it is very very good.
BTW, I used to knit, many years ago. (like, very many)

Maybe we should!

I woke up this morning and thoought it was Saturday for a minute, and as I was starting to fall back to sleep, I realized that, sadly, it was only Wednesday. D'oh!

The bitter cold is arriving here today.  I am so not ready for it; they're saying it might be record-breaking, and it means I might have to run out to my mom's to make sure the pipes don't freeze while she's away.

Can you believe we're finally down to less than a week until Bush goes buh-bye?

We're not going to have any records here (thank goodness, since the record is -26F) but the low today is going to be 0 (wind chill -12) and tomorrow -6 (wind chill -20). More reasonable temps arrive on Saturday.

I want the 20th to be here in the next 5 minutes.

I'm trying to imagine what it will be like in Philly on Tuesday.  On election night, people were cheering, beeping their car horns, congratulating each other in the streets...it almost felt like New Year's Eve.

CBtE is begging to stay home on Tuesday so he can watch the inauguration on teevee with us.

Morning all.

I had my second night of uninterrupted horizontal sleep last night. Woohoo.  I'm trying to take it easy because every time I don't that damn cough comes back.

Luna continues to sleep through her pregnancy. Right now the wrens are eating her breakfast while she snoozes mere inches from it.

Hector is having a fine morning digging in and chewing on his cardboard coney castle.  I've built him a second playhouse for the living room - this one is less crenelated and has more of a Bauhaus design.

If by "grateful" you mean gleefully destructive, why yes, yes he is.

When I got my first mini-lop back in the 80's they were called Miniature French Lops.  That name has changed and a lot more distinctions were added for the different sizes, but I still think of them as French.  Which is why I tell people that my rabbits are French Deconstructionists.  Of course, very few people get the joke (which happens to me a lot).

He prefers to deconstruct from the inside outward, so it's hard to get a photo of him in action.

I can however, give you a view of the results.  When I left this morning his box was up against the wall. After I left he added the back door and moved the whole box out a foot-or-so out from the wall.  He's also greatly enlarged the front and interior doors. Plus part of the floor under the stair landing is missing.  I give this box another week at best.  Good thing cardboard boxes are free.

Or, from the point of the pet owner better for him to be chewing on his house than my house (which rabbits are very adept at, especially skirting boards).  In fact it seems that whenever I have a young animal much of my time spent is providing them with things they can destroy.

Repeat many, many times:

(picking up shoe and using a low growly voice) "Bad dog, not yours!"

(picking up twisted rope toy and using a saccharine lilting voice) "Yeah, good dog. This is yours"

Bebo is a dedicated chewer and tearer-up-of-things but fortunately the things she most likes to destroy are used tissues, sticks, and old socks (which we tie in knots to make it a bit more work).
