Brownie Evacuated

by BooMan

Here's some karma:

A series of wind-whipped wildfires north of Boulder, Colo., have forced the evacuation of more than 11,500 residents — among them vilified ex-Federal Emergency Management Agency head Michael Brown.

Brown was lauded by President Bush for doing a “heckuva job” in the botched response to Hurricane Katrina, which took the lives of 1,836 people and caused more than $81 billion in damage. Brown resigned in disgrace and the event looms as a national turning point against the Bush administration.

No word on why Brownie wasn't abandoned on his rooftop.

Abandoned on his rooftop.  That would have been justice.

The national guard was airlifting stranded cows by helicopter and doing food drops for livestock within hours of the Colorado blizzard that followed Katrina a few months later. Shame.

Hmmm....interesting.

That's probably because those cows looked like this....

very few people even know he lives up here, which l'm sure is intentional on his part. he keeps a real low profile.

and FEMA's actually going to help out ... FEMA to help cover fire costs:

The Federal Emergency Management Agency will help pay the firefighting costs for the Olde Stage Road Fire that has burned more than 1,000 acres.

"While we don't send engines or firefighters to battle these blazes, FEMA does help reimburse states for their firefighting costs," said Garry Briese, a regional administrator with the agency. "Whenever a wildfire threatens large numbers of homes and looks like it may become a major disaster, we can help cover costs so the state can do what it needs to do to fight the fire."

Authorities at FEMA, a branch of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, approved a request from Colorado officials for the grant at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday.

amazing how quickly they approved that, eh.

winds have come up again too, but not as bad as yesterday, so we're still not out of the woods.

the revolution will not be televised...

Hope things are better out your way dada, I'm sorry the winds are making life difficult for you. Hang in there.

Think about this....Bill Clinton's FEMA might have ben able to mobilise resources to deal with the wildfire before getting to the point of these evacuations...

Think about it---Clinton's people were honest, dedicated and professional.  Brownie's were Good Republicans....no other qualification mattered.

Yeah, an award winning federal govt. agency under Clinton reduced to a cruel and inept piece of crap in just a few short years. Grover must be very proud.
