I'm hoping my migraine issues will subside long enough to finish work for the week...at least my yoga class last night seems to have helped some.

What's everyone up to this weekend?  I have the lovely Giants-Eagles football game (on teevee, not in person) to look forward to.  Oh, and the taking down of the Christmas tree ( we didn't put it up until the 23rd, so we're entitled to the extra week of tree.)  Big fun.

by CabinGirl on Fri Jan 9th, 2009 at 07:05:15 AM EST
I hope your headache clears up soon.

Nothing doing here. I guess I can work in some cheering for the Eagles. :)

I'm going to take a pre-emptive stress-reducing walk this morning in an effort to keep it away.  :)

We root for Giants here...which is part of the problem with having an Eagles-Giants playoff game.  There's a DL get-together to watch the game on Sunday, but it might be weird to be rooting for the blue team instead of the green team.  :)

I ordered the third season of Weeds on DVD, and that should be here today too, so I think we'll be having a mini-marathon sometime this weekend.

Good morning!
Wow, you're on the third season already! We've been sidetracked and are only half way through the second.

Morning ask.

There's lots of action in the second half. It will definitely keep you absorbed.

The last episode was...wow!

Seriously though, the last 4 episodes were so good that someone (ahem) cheated and finished watching them even though I had fallen asleep.

The last episode of season two was, I think, the best of the entire series.

It was certainly action-packed.  The whole thing at the end-what a cliffhanger!

We have all the premium channels free with our fios tv until february, so we're trying to get through all the previous Weeds seasons and watch Season 4 before the trial period ends.

We watched the Tudors on Showtime too.  It seems like Showtime has more writing talent than HBO these days (which I don't think was true back when Deadwood and Six feet Under and the Sopranos were still on).

by CabinGirl on Fri Jan 9th, 2009 at 08:17:17 AM EST
[ Parent ]
I've never watched the Tudors. It just didn't interest me at all and I'm not a big television watcher anyway (I only watch Doctor Who, Torchwood, Weeds, and Mythbusters).

I have to admit that I didn't think either season 3 and 4 of weeds were as good as 1 and 2.

Mythbusters rocks.  We watched the Tudors while waiting for Santa to bring the second season of Weeds...we already knew how it ended for Anne, but it was entertaining.

I've heard that people thought season 3 was disappointing.  We'll see.

I am so not motivated to work today.

Ah, I just assumed the Eagles -- I can easily switch as I don't care which team wins.

I've ready seen season 3. I'll be interested in your reactions once you've seen all of it.

Morning drive by.  We're supposed to be getting up to 6 inches of snow tomorrow, just as the ice is receding a bit.  Ugh.

Apricots put up for the winter.  Imogen did most the work.  I'm mostly in charge of supplies and acquisitions (i.e. scrounging the bottling supplies on the cheap from thrift shops and the like, and buying the fruit from the local growers).

You know I think redbuds blooming in January is just wrong -- it takes away the thrill of spring. Then again, I guess spring where you are just means the arrival of 90% humidity. ;P

I'm trying to figure out my new iphone :)

Ooooh...do you love it?

My favorite part is the calendar and contacts that instantly update the calendars and contacts on my laptop and desktop.  And the Aurora Feint game and Wurdle are fun apps.

I haven't had time to play with it really. But so far I really like it.  I picked it up yesterday and have been going, going, going.  I need to check out new apps - thanks for the recommend.  The most I've done so far is hook it up to my itunes, download the facebook app  and figure out how to make the weather app show my city :)

I picked a really busy weekend to get one.  I should have planned to do it on a weekend I could have played with it all weekend.

Makes my whining about the snoring seem small.  Except that I've spent my prime REM sleep time trying to get someone to stop snoring. Grr.

And now I have to wake yup CBtY, which is always a joy on Mondays.

I tried the elbow, the shove, the wake 'em up and roll 'em over, the cry of desperation...nothing worked.

And it's too cold in the living room at 4 am for me to get out of the bed.  Maybe if I took the down comforter with me.

It did quiet down enough for me to go back to sleep for a little while.
