Random question: if for some reason the Yanks close out the Angels and Phils and win it all with A-Rod doing what he's doing, would be be a "real" Yankee like Tino or Jeter?

I joined the Yankee family a bit late (observed them since 95 & full fandom in 03), but the "real" Yankee thing just crossed my mind. What do you think?

I'll comment, though I'm a Yankee-hater:

Arod is on an incredible streak right now.  If he can maintain this level of play and win the World Series MVP, I believe he will be considered a "true Yankee."  But if he levels off and merely performs in a satisfactory manner, I don't think so.

Retirement hasn't changed him, apparently.

Not bad, he did pocket $150,000 for the night, all expenses paid.

Hey, you can burn me in effigy for $150 grand.  Hell, for that kind of money I'll even light the damn thing.

What part of "international war crimes" do you not understand?
