Do You Mind If We Dance With Your Dates?

Why does this remind me of the scene in Animal House where Otter, Boone, Pinto and Flounder bring their dates to see Otis Day perform Shamalama Ding Dong at an all-black bar?

Newly elected Republican National Committee Chairman Michael S. Steele plans an “off the hook” public relations offensive to attract younger voters, especially blacks and Hispanics, by applying the party's principles to “urban-suburban hip-hop settings.”

If you saw the movie, you know how this works out in the end.

about as much principle as Otter pretending to be engaged to a college girl's dead roommate in order to win a date for himself and his friends.

"hip-hop" is the cure for everything and I'm actually happy their doing this "hip" stuff. Because, in 2010 the Dems will have 60(+) seats in the Senate if the Republicans think hip-hop music and "tax-cuts" will sway black and Latino voters. Meanwhile, Sen. Shelby is on the floor of the Senate talking about the invasion from Mexico and the need for Captial Gains Tax Cuts.

In a time of growing national economic disaster, Steele offers a program of musical froth and frills. Gee, Michael you may be not only the latest Republican National Committee Chairman but the last.  As national suffering goes up, Republican popularity goes down.  Bye, bye, Michael.

Suppose you scrub your ethical skin until it shines, but inside there is no music, then what? Kabir
