Crazy Talk

by BooMan
Wed Jul 8th, 2009 at 06:29:55 PM EST

I am thinking of marrying another species because Brian Kilmeade tells me everyone is doing it.

Display:
Is this guy calling for racial purity? Or Scandanavian socialism? What's he talking about?
by Bob In Pacifica on Wed Jul 8th, 2009 at 06:53:32 PM EST
He's saying that America is a nation of race mongrels so a study of Swedes' health has no application to us.
by BooMan on Wed Jul 8th, 2009 at 07:01:18 PM EST
[ Parent ]
You know, I THOUGHT that's what he was saying. I just didn't believe anyone would still say that crap in public without wearing a sheet over his head.
by Bob In Pacifica on Wed Jul 8th, 2009 at 07:15:53 PM EST
[ Parent ]
but, you know, it wasn't just about breeding with the black or latino or chinese species, it was about english breeding with french and french breeding with Polish.  Mess up your genes like that and normal medical science no longer applies.  Nothing racist.  See?
by BooMan on Wed Jul 8th, 2009 at 07:47:24 PM EST
[ Parent ]
Yeah, and there's so much science behind that, too, eh?
by Bob In Pacifica on Wed Jul 8th, 2009 at 09:41:04 PM EST

Yeah, no one in Urrup ever moved around, especially not the Vikings or the Goths, or the Romans, the Celts, the Greeks, or the Turks, or the Moors for that matter.  They all stayed home and none of those wars/invasions ever happened.

Besides, every modern strain of grain or domestic animal is the product of Hybred Vigor - i.e. cross breeds which are superior to their parent races.  But then I'm sure the Swedes and Kilmeade don't eat any of those mongrel foods.

This guy''s family has evidently been practicing its own kind of purity for a few generations. But it does simplify things when you only have one set of grandparents.

I have heard that argument from kooks I know;

"Health care will not work in America the way it works in Europe because they have more homogenous societies than we do."

translated;

"Dark skinned people ruin everything".

Crazy a$$holes.

by nalbar (nalbarsatgmaildotcom) on Wed Jul 8th, 2009 at 07:07:19 PM EST
If those same assholes got out of the country more, they'd find that Europe just isn't that damned homogenous anymore. Entirely aside from the, um, open borders within the EU, there are pretty sizeable minorities populations of non-European descent in several EU countries, the UK and France being the most prominent.

I'll grant you that socialized health care may not work in American the way it does in Europe, but it's not because of Europe's supposed homogeneity. It's because Europeans are, well, way ahead of Americans in pretty much every measure except the number of nuclear warheads they own.

The problem with America is that we once led the world in a couple of areas and then stopped improving, as if all we had to do was cross some arbitrary finish line once and be number one for all time. Mention this to a right wing reactionary and you'll get the usual blame-America-first screed, which only makes me want to punch their lights out and tell them to lay off the fix-America-last bullshit.

As far as the increasingly open racism goes, I'm increasingly inclined to think we ought to lynch a few of them to send the only kind of message those troglodytes understand. This planet belongs to the human race, and if these assholes want to secede from humanity, they need to be aware that they're surrendering their human rights at the same time.

It's very strange that the ones that claim 'America is the BESTEST!' are also the ones that say we cannot improve on healthcare programs of other countries.

Them; 'But European countries health care programs SUCK'

Me; 'So you are saying we cannot improve on their systems?'

Them; 'YA!'.

Crazy a$$holes.

See, the problem is the Swedes have pure genes. Because they marry other Swedes

I didn't know I was Swedish! See what you can learn talking to Republicans?

What's new about any of this? Grandma said she married another species years ago.

why? At this point in my life a man who isn't obsessed with his lower half and still has fingers and a mouth sounds pretty good to me :)

Plus we'd live on water.   I love water.

I'm still going with the centaur.  I could ride him around the mall when I got tired.  And if he's obsessed with his lower half, at least he's got good reason to be.

I don't think you can. Centaurs don't seem to have a stable gender, so we couldn't be sure marriage was being protected. That would really piss off Ensign, Sanford, and the gang.
