Caving to Teabaggers

I am glad that Baucus is finally going to release his mark on the health care bill tomorrow or Wednesday. I think we need to save this quote though, for shits and giggles later on.

Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus announced Monday that he may unveil his long-awaited health-care bill as soon as Tuesday -- and he predicted that Republicans will find plenty to like about it.

The Montana Democrat and his fellow "Gang of Six" Finance Committee negotiators haggled Monday over top Republican concerns, including provisions that would limit medical malpractice cases, bar benefits from reaching illegal immigrants, and block federal funds from subsidizing abortions. The goal from the talks is to win over Sens. Charles E. Grassley (Iowa) and Mike Enzi (Wyo.), two conservatives who have remained at the table all summer despite strong opposition from most of their GOP colleagues.

"Senators on and off the committee, their comfort level is starting to come up a bit," Baucus told reporters during an afternoon break in talks. "I do believe that strongly, and I believe in the end we'll have some significant bipartisan support."

I do not believe that. The teabagging nutjobs that the Republicans have whipped into a frenzy are not interested in tweaking this Nazi-inspired idea of expanding health care coverage. And, as far as I can tell, the whole Congress is afraid to do anything disagreeable to the teabaggers.

The only U.S. Senators willing to stick up for ACORN?

Burris (D-IL), Casey (D-PA), Durbin (D-IL), Gillibrand (D-NY), Leahy (D-VT), Sanders (I-VT)

Casey and Gillibrand just went up significantly in my estimation.

Is this the result of Obama's vaunted bi-partisanship?

Glad to see the Democrats can come together with Republicans in a bi-partisan way and punch hippies in the face.

Fuck you Obama and your centrist puke whores in the Senate.

I bet the average ACORN worker has twice the integrity of these Whore Senators.  In fact, did Senator Stevens, who was actually convicted of a form of election fraud, bribery and whoremongering, get reprimanded on the Senate floor?  He's ten times as guilty as ACORN and I bet he didn't have a group of bi-partisan corporate whores censuring him.

No, he's a Senate whore and he gets coddled.  It's only the hippies that are held up for special scrutiny.

Is this a broadside against progressives warning them not to take on the conservaDems?  Why was this voted on?

Is this the Blue Dogs wanting to go on the record that there will be no liberal voices allowed in Congress--they will be shouted down?

Time for all you centrists to pick a side.  Obama is siding with the corporatists, conservatives, and teabaggers.  Which side are you on?

Does this vote even matter in the grand scheme of things?  Or is this just more Senatorial grandstanding?  It's sad to see Franken and Feingold vote yes on this.

casey's been consistently strong on health care reform. he came out early and strong for a public option and is unequivocal.  so far.

Maxie is a disgrace.

I've been pleasantly surprised with Gillibrand. This vote continues that.

Meh, the ACORN video is pretty embarrassing.

Either raise your standards or quit.

That's right. ACORN shot itself in the foot, and gave Faux news and their cohorts some more ammo.

Why is it that both parties are so intent on screaming at each other, rather than trying to find solutions to this country's massive problems??
