Finn's thoughts on the snow:

How are things at your house?

That was my favorite picture,  just because it was so funny.

Finn must have heard about the Democratic approach toward healthcare reform.

Delurking to say: this baby is just too cute.
We had the big "Snow Storm" last weekend here (Durham, NC). I'm jealous of the beautiful whiteness you're experiencing today. I love winter (spring and fall too - not so crazy about summer).

I'm in Raleigh.  Hate hate hate the summer. Ick. Yuck. Blech.

Looks like a good set of lungs on the fellow. Brass player, maybe, or opera. Not the theater, though -- by then everyone on Broadway will be miked, more's the pity.

A wonderful shot -- but that boy should be wearing his fluffy new hat!

Glad you're safe at home & doing OK after the storm. Here in the Catskills we didn't get squat.
Not even a flake.

I certainly would rather have honest-to-goodness two feet of snow than the 37-degree monsoon we had yesterday.

Nice pictures.  Like the cabin with the snow.  And cute picture of Finn.

he looks so cute. enjoy this time. it's your first big snow as a Daddy.

Regarding the snow, I concur with Finn.

In our home, "Observe the snow" is shorthand for the expression at the end of this article.

He's saying, "Get me outta here, its freezing!" in one month old speak. Great picture for the album;-)

He probably thought you expected him to SHOVEL it!

Looks like we got at least 24 inches, maybe more -- hard to tell from my 9th floor vantage point (fortunately, I don't have to do any shoveling!)

Saw two people doing cross-country skiing down my street this morning, that was rather cool.  Tomorrow I will take some pics from street level and see how it all looks...

That is beyond a cute picture! Satchmo spent yesterday playing with kids on sleds going up and down our snowhill by the house, life is complete for him with kids and snow! Today, town is getting ready for our mini Olympics. We'll have dog sled races (led by the professional teams), cross country skiing (200 miles of connected trails) and big bonfires going downtown to get warm and next weekend big screen tv's.

I know, but we have 3 dogs and CG seems to think slobber is some kind of a problem.

We got about two feet here in the People's Republic of Northern Virginia.  I foolishly didn't remember to buy a shovel.  I've made some headroom with the broom and my feet -- probably nearly enough to get the truck out if I throw it into 4WD, but then the problem becomes sliding backwards into somebody behind me.

Any advice from the experienced crowd?  I was thinking salt water, but this is all new to me.

Be nice to America. Or we'll bring democracy to you country.

4x4 low range reverse solves the problem for me when I have to go into a slide area. Just remember, 4x4 when in trouble you step on the gas, not the brake....

About the same, minus the snow.  And my boy is almost 3 years old now.
