I am a member of
US Labor Against the War. Although I was unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict -- I had to be at an arbitration hearing -- US Labor Against the War held it's Steering Committee meeting in Chicago on December 3rd and 4th. By all accounts I missed an exciting, at times raucus, gathering.
Did you know that I am currently scheduled to be included in the worker's delegation going to Iraq in the future? I will be the "oil worker delegate" and meet the Iraqi oil industry Union leaders in Basra. I have met them already here in the US during their tour in June and was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to host them at a private luncheon. This delegation has been postponed several times now for "security reasons."
I'll talk more in the comments about the delegation if anyone's interested...
