Lemmings have bad press. They really don't blindly leap over cliffs to their deaths....but they do serve as appropriate metaphors for gullible GOP voters who follow the party line and consistently vote against their own interests in national elections.
What amazes me is that the corporate media pundits and the McCain campaign gurus now view American women as the lemmings of the present electorate. And they've given Sarah Palin the go-ahead to claim the role of heir(ess) apparent to the glass ceiling. Nonsense. Read more... (324 words in story) by rascal
Got another email message from my dentist who volunteered to do a tour in Iraq. The reasons for this are a whole other post....but there's a lot to learn from someone who is actually there.
Last letter had a lot about the luxuries of the officer class - gyms galore, movieplexes, great food (lowly troops in tents around the zone get only two meals a day), swimming pools, contracted personal guards.... and oh, yes, increasing mortar attacks. But that's war as we know it, and nothing in the email really surprised me... until one paragraph about those Filipinos, - you know, the ones deceived and brutalized into going to Iraq when they thought they were headed towards high paying jobs in Dubai?

Defining 'terrorist' might be a good topic for debate....but the US FBI has a definition by which it determines who is the bad guy in this troubled world.
But, if you use the official definition as presented by FBI, it is possible to determine not only who fits the description, but who holds the record in committing acts of terror. Surprise, surprise... it seems to be our own amoral President, himself! Read more... (505 words in story) by rascal
Talk about an uninformed public! How many people understand that the Federal Reserve is neither a government agency, nor does it have a 'reserve' of money to toss around. The FED is a private institution set up by veryT clever and very devious money masters who devised a way to lend money they themselves printed to the government of the US at an interest rate of their choosing.
Did you know that? Not to feel bad...few Americans do. And, to top it off, did you know that this practice is essentially in direct conflict with the US Constitution... which gives Congress the sole authority to print money (Article 8 Section 1). Oh, never mind... it's just a piece of paper. You CAN do something about this.... but first, get informed. Read more... (1 comment, 578 words in story) by rascal
We have had five years of useless death and destruction in Iraq based on the lies of war profiteers and neocon madmen. I still can hear Dick Cheney promising that we will be greeted as liberators and that his PNAC war would be short and sweet. I still have images Colin Powell in my psyche with his charts and maps and photographs...declaring that we were in imminent danger of death by WMD.
The news networks tell us nothing. George Bush still goes to bed at 9 pm and sleeps like a baby. He is a man without conscience. Editorial today at http://TvNewsLIES.org/tvnl asks a good question. It begins like this: Read more... (312 words in story) by rascal
The Jigsaw to Armageddon
Yeah, folks, you can bet the ranch: we're going in. I've heard all the arguments from the nay sayers, so let that go. We're going in.
This is déjà vu time, for sure, as we look back on the months before Shock and Awe, when so many of us tried to warn the nation about the coming catastrophe in Iraq. But those of us who shouted went unheard and those of us who marched in protest went unseen. Yet in the end we were right on the mark. Read more... (270 words in story) by rascal
Imagine being on the brink of adolescence in the year 2000, - only minimally aware of the world around you, and really not into the foibles of politics or politicians. Life was what it was, and you took it pretty much for granted. In fact, for you and other young teens in 2000; things seemed pretty good and getting better, because you were growing up in the richest and most powerful nation in the whole damn world.

Remember this: The official story of 9/11 has been told by professional, experienced, and successful liars. It's really not about who was responsible for the attacks. It's far more vital to understand that otherwise reasonable people will question all the lies of the Bush Crime Family... EXCEPT for the official version of 9/11.

Any day now, Iran will be hit. It's a setup exactly like Iraq, and the warmongers in the WH know they can get away with another round of killing.
I doubt they have any clue as to the consequences this time around. More dangerously, they don't care. Someone has to stop Bushco. Now.

Companies on AAR Boycott List!
Peter Collins, talk show host at Novamradio.com received an email that went out from ABC Radio Networks.
The message reads
The memo lists 90 companies that are included in what appears to be an apparent boycott of all Air America Radio affiliates of ABC. TVNL has been able to decipher the names of most of the companies on the list, with the exception of a few that were too difficult to read. THE LIST IS POSTED ON THE TVNL BLOG!: by rascal
Aside from obliterating the US Constitution, GW Bush and cartel have managed to withdraw from ELEVEN international treaties since coming to power.
Twenty-four seven reporting is the norm when it comes to titillating events such as Foley's Folly....but nary a word on the actions of this administration on matters that will affect the American people and the world for generations to come. Can you name more than a couple of the treaties that have been dumped into the proverbial toilet bowl? Here's the complete list. It's Jesse Blog today at http://tvnewslies.org/blog/?p=460. Strange juxtaposition yesterday. On the two hundred thirtieth birthday of the US of A, - two strangely related events took place. They were oddly related by a nutritional connection - yet diametrically opposed in cultural significance.
The events involved silly gluttony in New York, and a very serious hunger strike in Washington DC. And guess which one was covered by every single major news network, here and abroad? You betcha....the annual Nathan's hot dog eating contest at Coney Island won hands down. How's that for ugly? Read more... (1 comment, 384 words in story) by rascal
It's still the taboo topic. You can talk about anything else....just about anything... but not 9/11. Daily Kos dumps you if you post any of the evidence that has been undearthed. None of the progressive sites covered the international 9/11 Truth Conference in Chicago last week.
So, let's pretend it isn't happening...and that there are no vital questions to be answered. Read more... (2 comments, 377 words in story) by rascal
Not too long ago, if you opposed an illegal war or gave a damn about civil liberties, you were called a 'pinko commie.' I don't know when the word 'liberal' morphed into an insulting term, - but right now it's the word of choice used by the right to demean anyone who opposes the outrageous policies of their leader in Washington.
I also don't remember just when it was that being called a liberal put people on the defensive - and forced them into denial mode. Something is very wrong with all of this. The good news is that someone knew how to take on the lemmings who repeat the mantras invoked by Sean and Rush and Karl and their disciples. Here's a good read that starts like this: Read more...
