Gore responds to the UK Judge's Ruling. Plaintiff Dimmock's denialist connections exposed

by NeuvoLiberal

Crossposting this Daily Kos diary (Tiny URL: tinyurl.com/2vojen ) with minimal changes.
Tags: Al Gore, Global Warming, Climate Change, Rapid Global Climate Destabilization

I am writing to report a response from Kalee Kreider (VP Al Gore's communications director and environmental adviser) to a pair of Washington Post articles on British High Court judge Michael Burton's ruling concerning Gore's movie on global warming, An Inconvenient Truth.

Please find the response here: An Inconvenient Truth: Team Gore responds, which links to the preceding posts at the Post which Kalee was responding to.

What Obama actually said about fighting terrorism (Cross Post)

I am crossposting this Daily Kos diary by Geekesque at DK with permission: What Obama actually said about fighting terrorism.

Crossposted diary follows. If you have questions, it would be preferable to post them in Geekesque's original diary at DKos.

What Obama actually said about fighting terrorism

by Geekesque, Wed Aug 01, 2007 at 07:51:41 AM PDT

Barack Obama was scheduled to give a speech today on his national security/defense/anti-terrorism policy today.

There's going to be a lot of distortion of what he said, so I thought I'd launch a 'preemptive strike' and detail what he's actually saying.

The details below the fold.

Draft Gore 2008 Suggested Action Steps: July 23, 2007

by NeuvoLiberal
Mon Jul 23rd, 2007 at 03:47:16 PM EST

"Yes, we can," is the right answer to the wrong question "Will he" or "Won't he."

Recently, DraftGore.Com submitted their petition with 100 thousand signatures to Al Gore. Al Gore could have the told them not to continue their efforts if he wanted to rule out a run or rule out being drafted. There are no signs that he did. Recently, DraftGore.Com started airing radio ads in Iowa and apparently will air national radio ads as well.

Edwards Avatar 2.x SOLD the 'War onTerror' frame and the war

by NeuvoLiberal
Sun Apr 29th, 2007 at 11:20:47 AM EST

Regarding the "Global War on Terror"(GWOT frame) show-of-hands question in the first debate for the Democratic nomination, Matt Stoller wrote: Global War on Terror: Clinton Fails, Edwards Shines and an Edwards promoter goes on to explain to us why that frame is so bad (didn't we know this since it was coined first?)

While the current version of Edwards ("Edwards 3.x") is apparently exciting to many in the blogosphere, it turns out that the former avatar of Edwards ("Edwards 2.x") was, as with the war, at the forefront of championing the GOP/neocon frame, "GWOT", as seen in the extensive evidence presented below the fold.

Jack Murtha Nails It!!

by NeuvoLiberal
Sun Oct 15th, 2006 at 08:42:19 PM EST

In what has to be one of the best OpEds I have seen this year, Rep. Jack Murtha sticks it to the Goons! And sticks it good!!

Addressing the spins coming from Rove, Cheney, Rumsfeld etal, Murtha lays down a solid response in his Washington Post OpEd Confessions of a 'Defeatocrat', By John P. Murtha, Sunday, October 15, 2006; Page B01

To the puerile "defeatocrat" label, I simply have this to say:

In head-to-head matchups, Gore has pulled to within 7 points of McCain and 4 points of Giuliani in a FOX News/Opinion Dynamics poll released yesterday, improving his standings from May when he trailed both McCain and Giuliani by double digits. Gore now matches Hillary's poll numbers versus Giuliani and marginally improves upon her versus McCain. Keywords: 2008, Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Rudy Giuliani

A Lee Hamilton OpEd: The Un-PNAC, perhaps?

by NeuvoLiberal
Tue Aug 15th, 2006 at 09:03:56 AM EST

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Mr. Lee Hamilton, a former Democratic Representative to the US House from Indiana and the former vice chairman of the 9/11 Commission, wrote an OpEd  that articulates a forward-looking foreign policy vision while surgically deconstructing Neoconservative fundamentalism that is promoted by the Neocons and the Rubber-Stamping Bush-Republicans under the banner of "promoting democracy around the world", using fear-mongering gimmicks such as inflated "war on terror", blabbering sound-bites such as"fighting them over there..", and other assorted constructs and paraphernalia designed to fool people.

When Nader met Gore

by NeuvoLiberal
Wed Jun 21st, 2006 at 03:56:41 PM EST

A fascinating recent development seems to have slipped through the cracks.

Ralph Nader, Al Gore's third party opponent in the 2000 presidential race, attended a book signing event by the latter of the companion book to An Inconvenient Truth, and the two men received each other well and perhaps reached a new rapport.

'An Inconvenient Truth' Car Pools

by NeuvoLiberal
Fri Jun 9th, 2006 at 03:18:37 PM EST

Here an idea for watching and promoting Al Gore's movie An Inconvenient Truth, and doing so while leaving as small a CO_2 footprint as possible.

Organize AIT car pools with your co-workers, friends and families to go and see 'The Truth' at the nearest theatre!

An Inconvenient Truth: please pledge and promote the movie/cause

by NeuvoLiberal
Fri May 5th, 2006 at 12:24:15 PM EST

As many of you know, Al Gore's movie on global warming, "An Inconvenient Truth" will be released on May 24th.

The movie's website is here, and they're taking pledges to see the movie over the opening weekend. They currently have over 32,000 signatures, but let's try and make it a 100,000 signatures or more, before the movie opens.

If this diary makes the recommended list, we will get a step closer to achieving that goal, hence your recommendations will be much appreciated.
