Before I get to the meat of this diary, take a look at this video:
That was for those who think Dennis Kucinich isn't "firey" enough. Now a word about impeachment... Read more... (1 comment, 1471 words in story) by STOP George
It had to be said.
And as a Canadian, I have to apologize on behalf of this unfunny man who originated from my country. You suck, Mr. Little. And you embarrassed my country with your witless performance last night. I especially loathe your disingenuity by telling us before and during your silly shtick that "you're not a political satirist" (a la Colbert). You see, Mr. Little, I would argue that you ARE indeed political in what you touch and what you don't touch. You ARE as political as the American network news who's bias never gives time to the flag draped coffins of 3,000 American servicemen and women returning home from a blood-drenched Iraq. You ARE as political as this sycophantic media who would rather chat endlessly about tragedies involving rich white people -- but not the 700,000 brown people who have been slaughtered with the help of the government you cozied with last night. Oh, and this proves my point somewhat, too...

I thought I'd give my fellow Libs in the U.S. a heads-up on this very interesting study that you may want to use when backing up your arguments with respect to a national health care system for the U.S.
From the Toronto Star:
Health outcomes for patients in Canada are as good as or better than in the United States, even though per capita spending is higher south of the border, suggest Canadian and U.S. researchers who crunched data from 38 studies. Cheaper AND better?! Follow me below and I'll provide a summary of the article... Read more... (3 comments, 366 words in story) by STOP George
Much has been made about the 4 year anniversary of the "fall of Baghdad". I wanted to do this earlier, but better late than never...

Yesterday, chuckle-nuts rambled on without any sense of irony once again about the so-called British "hostages" captured by Iran recently.
"The Iranians must give back the hostages. They're innocent. 15 seasoned British soldiers detained in a region that is rife with conflict and paranoia. The irony that I referred to was well below the sycophant U.S. media radar less than a month ago when a 9 year old Canadian boy was held for MORE THAN A MONTH in a former maximum security prison in Texas with his parents. Of course, the Canadian government didn't make an international scene out of it similar to what is going on now -- even though the Bush administration has broken international law far more than Ahmadinejad could even dream of. Where was the "international condemnation" then? Read more... (2 comments, 1849 words in story) by STOP George
This Video blew me away. I mean.....WOW!
It is not an impassioned get angry video. It's one of a man who cares deeply about what is happening now and it's about a man who "gets it". This should be one of the most important videos ever produced and I hope it goes massively viral!

Oh! The HORROR!
What is she doing...I mean "he"...I mean..."she". Our sacrosanct frame of the beautiful and victimized Valerie Plame has been RUINED!!!!!
The last laugh (which is no laughing matter) is on YOU, however. You see, the lady in pink is one step ahead of YOU in understanding this whole situation -- even if it may not be known to the pink lady herself. Read more... Every day that I see your petulant vacant inhumanity splashed across my monitor I beg that you will be eventually put in a special place in hell. A place that will force you to witness your past insensitivity to all that is decent on this planet. Indeed, a place that is eagerly insensitive to your needs. A very very lonely place that has no apologists like George Will to defend your sorry pampered ass. ![]() ![]()

No sooner did senior State Department official, Alberto Fernandez utter these commments:
"History will decide what role the U.S. played. And God willing, we tried to do our best in Iraq. But I think there is a big possibility for extreme criticism and because, undoubtedly, there was arrogance and stupidity from the United States in Iraq."
(click HERE or on pic to see video) Fernandez has now retracted these comments. Thank you kindly sir for giving this story "legs". Read more... (4 comments, 302 words in story) by STOP George
Shortly before being told that between 400,000 to 800,000 lives had been wasted since George W. pulled the UN inspectors from completing their largely successful effort to eventually inform the world that Saddam Hussein indeed had no WMDs (and had been contained) -- the bloody occupation of Iraq had been largely forgotten in the American media.
Think about that. FOUR HUNDRED TO EIGHT HUNDRED THOUSAND people have died because of this unnecessary invasion and this was a story largely neglected by the American media in July, 2006. Then, CNN had the audacity to remind Americans of the promises that were made in the last 5 years. This change in narrative certainly got my attention. And then they showed an exclusive video that has now got the Republicans frothing at the mouth. The video dramatically shows how vulnerable American soldiers really are out there in an occupation which continues to have no noble cause at all. Read more... Promoted by Steven D. Our right to vote is our most precious right because from it flows all the others.
Here's a question for you: In light of all that you've heard about e-voting -- if given the choice -- what method would you prefer when voting in November, 2006?
(you may vote below on this voting issue...) Read more... (10 comments, 1142 words in story) by STOP George
So, here we are. Less than 50 days to what may be the most important election this country has ever had -- a crucial election that will determine if America drifts further towards fascism or, if accountability will once again mean something.
Do you not want oversight? Do you not want multiple impeachment hearings? Do you not want to help get this country back from the depths on insanity so that the world may, one day, come to respect the United States of America once again? Do you think that there is no possible way that the Democrats can lose this November? Think again. Despite catastrophic failures and proven security breaches that you can drive a Mac truck through, E-voting will be used by 80% of the electorate when America determines whether democracy survives this year. Senators Kerry, Feingold, Boxer, and HAVA co-sponser Chris Dodd along with congressperson Rush Holt want to help prevent this looming disaster about to take place. Emergency legislation to the rescue! Read more... (1 comment, 742 words in story) by STOP George
Heads up, everyone!
It seems the WMD / connections to Al Qaeda connetion to Iraq is oozing into the Bush administrations spin again. Or is it spin? Yesterday, to an audience of reporters in the East-Wing of the Whitehouse -- with the Afghanistan President looking on beside him -- Chuckle-nuts told the world that the reason the U.S. invaded Iraq is due to
"...people who want to do harm to the American people." In 2006, after all we've read / seen, is this evidence that the President's thinking is "irrational"? (continued, with video...) Read more... (1 comment, 770 words in story)
