Political Cortex Offline: Domain Registration Issues

by wanderindiana
Tue Jun 13th, 2006 at 07:49:11 PM EST

For the past couple of days, Political Cortex has been offline. I had seen a comment thread at Daily Kos with speculation as to why "the Cortex" was offline; I also did a Whois that showed the domain expired on 10-Jun-2006.

Through Colin Hill at ScoopHost, I got in touch with Tom Ball, the operator of Political Cortex. Both of them would like the world to know that the domain registration lapse was unintentional, Tom is working with his registration service, SiteGround, to resolve the registration lapse issues, and that Political Cortex expects to be back online within the next 48 hours.

Digging through the Enron Dirt

by wanderindiana
Wed Feb 1st, 2006 at 01:03:38 AM EST

For the better part of today, kfred and I over at ePluribus Media worked with other intrepid investigators on digging through databases full of old Enron email.

We received a tip by way of Moon of Alabama that there were some interesting connections evident in the email.

The work led by kfred resulted in ENRON FILES: Abramoff? Reed? Delay?? Yes. My own tack, remembering that GOPUSA board member Charlie Weldon was an Enron employee, resulted in Help Us Dig through Enron Email: GOPUSA.

A sample of our discoveries below the fold, but first, an invitation to come dig through the Enron dirt with us.

Blogrolling at ePluribus Media

by wanderindiana
Thu Nov 24th, 2005 at 10:15:56 AM EST

Cross-posted at European Tribune, the ePluribus Media Community, and Daily Kos

In the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday, I am thinking about ways that those of us at ePluribus Media can give thanks to those of you who have supported our efforts throughout 2005.

One of the things we've been discussing behind the scenes is the creation of a blogroll. Many of you out there have been kind enough to give your support to us, and I (for one) would like to offer our supporters an opportunity to be recognized.

If you have a blog that you would like listed in a "Friends of ePluribus Media" blogroll, please post a link here in the comments.

The final decision on posting this blogroll will lie with the ePMedia Board of Directors, but I promise I'll put in a good word for all of you.

Tell the ONE campaign to Dump Pat Robertson

by wanderindiana
Wed Aug 24th, 2005 at 12:12:33 PM EST

While I've supported some of the efforts of the ONE campaign in the past, it has always bothered me that Pat Robertson was connected with this organization (his face appears, starkly, amongst celebrities in their television commercial).

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Now would be an ideal time to contact the ONE campaign: remind them about Pat Robertson's call to assassinate Venezuela's president, Hugo Chavez, and let them know in no uncertain terms that they need to dump Pat Robertson.

Torture Airlines: The CIA and their Front Companies

by wanderindiana
Tue May 31st, 2005 at 12:30:23 PM EST

Today's New York Times has an article, "CIA Expanding Terror Battle Under Guise of Charter Flights, that does a pretty good job of identifying the ever-growing circle of CIA front companies and aircraft toting individuals around the world for interrogation and detention.

The graphic representation in the link above identifies a double layer of operating companies and a few of the individuals that the companies have in common.

What I want to do here is provide a place for any further identification of facts about these people and these companies.
