Sorry in advance for this strange request but.....

I'm presenting to our school board tonight and would like to include pictures with the packet of information I'll be giving to the Board of Trustees.  I'm going to provide them with the Army's Recruiting manual and show them their objective "To Own The School".  I will also be providing them with my formal opt-out and request that my children be exempt from the ASVAB if they are considering this as a way to enhance the standardized test scores of the district.  "In Harms Way" from vfp's chapter 54 is the most incredible packet of truth i've seen so far.  I'll be giving them a copy of this too.  I think what would knock sense into these folks the quickest is photos... graphic photos.  I have found many sites with Iraqi victims which should be shocking enough but it's very possible these board members are of the mind... "kill them all and let god sort them out" ...  i just don't know, so along with these I'd like to provide graphic photos of our very own soldiers...   That is a bit harder to find.  If you could help me find these I would greatly appreciate it.  I leave here by 6pm this evening.    Next month, I think I'll present them with the film "Poison Dust".... whatcha think?  If ia will give me permission and i find the equipment to do this... i just can't think of a better presentation.  when i sign up to be placed on the agenda and have to provide the topic of the presentation i think i'll title it....  Support our Troops <smiling>  sounds positive... should attract the recruiters don't you think?

Thanks for your help ~

A portfolio of information I personally dropped off last December in The Hague at Dutch parliament and Cabinet members. A decision had to be taken on lenght of involvement of Dutch forces in Iraq.

Veteran journalist Simon Jenkins made just this point in a striking piece recently in the British Sunday Times (A wrecked nation, a desert, a ghost town. And this will be called victory). "In Vietnam," he wrote, "the Americans destroyed the village to save it. In Iraq we destroy the city to save it."

Also:  That's a pretty darn good mailing list. I disagree often, but always learn something.  They're a bit more left than I.  You should see their comments today on the Hillary story.

What was that diary the other day that had all the graphic pics of our wounded soldiers. I think it was over the weekend. These pictures would be perfect.

As to the cost of the war...staggering. Did not the administration say the Iraqis would be able to rapidly pay back this money because of their wealth of oil? Nice of this administration to destroy a country for no GD reason and then expect them to pay to rebuild it. And I would really like to know where the hell all that money is going. It sure isn't to the troops medical after care or the right equipment to keep them safe like armored vehicles that include plates on the bottom. Just look at all the legless wounded on those pictures. So WHO is getting all that money(besides the obvious Halliburton/Cheney Gang?

I have to split in a minute ... if you can find that and e-mail it to Marg, that'd be great.  She is the most hard-working person on recruiting and on depleted uranium (DU) issues.

That is where I saw it. Someone must have had a link to that in their diary. Hope she blows the pics up really big/ poster size at least so people get the full impact.

It may have been one of Maryscott's diaries. I am having a hard time logging on to MLW. I will continue to try and find it because some of them are really graphic. I hate them but people need to see these, not the sugar and cream ones of the soldiers skiing with their new artificial legs. I have a question I have never heard brought up. How many wounded male soldiers lost their sexual functions from being blown up underneath their unarmored Humvees. I don't mean to be gross but it seems to me that alot of young men may never have the joy of being a Daddy.

Alohal., this would make a great, great diary.  The loss of sexual function by so many young men ... and maybe some young women too.

    And not just from paralysis.

"We can't have leaks of classified information. It's not in our nation's interest." - President George W. Bush, 10/9/01

President Bush's defiant statement came in the immediate weeks following 9/11, as the administration clamped down on the information it provided to Congress. President Bush issued an order limiting access to classified intelligence only to 8 members of Congress -- the Speaker of the House, House Minority Leader, Senate Majority Leader, Senate Minority Leader, and chairmen and ranking members of the House and Senate intelligence committees...

I realize they can spin this as "a time of crisis immediately after 9/11" but (putting on republican face) we're at war daggumbit. And we can't have our assistant coach calling out our plays to the other team. All I wanna know is, what side is Rove on? (taking off republican face)

--Don't ask others to do, what you are unwilling to do yourself.
