The Fix Is In, Pt. II

by Arthur Gilroy
Tue Jul 22nd, 2008 at 12:22:45 PM EST

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I suppose one would have to be a dedicated hermit not to know that Barack Obama is making a tour of the war zones this week. The networks sent all three anchors, the troops are cheering for him (Except of course for the generals, who fear for their jobs and reputations.) and the bullshit media  hoopla is almost deafening. (Or at least it would be if I actually turned on my TV and allowed the hypnotism to do its work.

However...in case you have any doubts about who has been tapped to be the new King, please contrast that extended pre-coronation tour with the plight of the other team that has been tabbed as the designated patsy in this little sham.

From the Manchester Union Leader a nastily right wing paper for generations.

In Manchester last night, there was just one reporter and one photographer waiting for McCain as his plane -- a white, blue and gold Boeing 737-400 emblazoned with his campaign slogan, "Reform, Prosperity, Peace" -- touched down on the Wiggins Airways tarmac.

The Vietnam War veteran limped as he made his way down the metal stairway, a leather briefcase in one hand and a cell phone in the other, and walked straight into an awaiting Chevy Suburban.

Note the germane words here:

"...just one reporter..." and "limped".

Mmmm HMMMM!!!

M'man McCain is the first presidential candidate ever to succeed in being a lame duck before the conventions even convened.

Quite an accomplishment.

Congrats, mac.

Yer playin' yer part well.

The world needs supporting actors jes' like it does stars.

SEE ya, chunky!!! This is no country for old tomato cans

Salt to taste, peeder? Not anymore. The tongue? It's just the new appendix. Think well and prosper.

by Arthur Gilroy
Sat Jul 19th, 2008 at 09:38:40 AM EST

Peeder wrote (in his recent post on Political Fleshfeast Salting to Taste on Friday):

No you don't cook with your brain.

A cook is a tongue and a nose. And that's about it.

Well, peeder...

Pre-corporate breakdown it was maybe all about the tongue. YOU know. You remember. When you could fairly well trust that the food you bought...even at the local market, let alone in the best, priciest places...was not so chemically and genetically fucked up that it was just as likely to kill you as it was to nourish you?

Yeah.

Back then.

Now?

by Arthur Gilroy
Fri Jul 11th, 2008 at 10:13:55 AM EST

Booman posted an article called The Four Lethal Cynicisms today.

I started a response to it that grew into a stand-alone post.

Here it is, in a nutshell.

OBAMA'S AIRPLANE LANDS IN ST. LOUIS AFTER MECHANICAL PROBLEM... Pilot Reports 'Controllablity Issues'...
Who's writing this movie?

Pilot reports "controllability issues?"

How do you think them Neo-McCains are feeling?

He's occupying their territory faster than the Israelis take over Palestinians border areas.

Man's got coattails!!!

For Republicans, the Senate outlook is bad

Rogelio Solis / Associated Press

By Janet Hook, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer

July 6, 2008

WASHINGTON -- Mississippi, one of the nation's most conservative states, has not elected a Democratic senator in a quarter-century. It has voted for Republican presidential candidates in the last seven elections.

But this year, there is a real chance that the state will send a Democrat to the Senate...

Mmmm hmmmm...looks like Obama's well on his way.

Wif coattails, too.

Great.

Now at least we'll have a real Republican in the White House.

AHHHHHH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...!!!!!

AG

P.S. I guess this rightward surge of his means that he won't have any further trouble running with Hillary as his Vice-Cheney, right?

AHHHHHH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...!!!!!

A BOUNTY of Fitzmasses comes your way.

by Arthur Gilroy
Tue Jul 1st, 2008 at 03:41:02 PM EST

Booman recently posted this little essay: Keeping Things in Balance.

After a parapraph that was a truly tortured attempt to remain "neutral" regarding Obama's rightward rush while still supporting him, the second and last paragraph stated:

But I will say this. If anyone in the Obama campaign is listening, tell your candidate to take his foot off the centrism accelerator. He's feeding the left more centrism than they can digest all at once. We all knew and expected that you would tack to the center once the nomination was secured. But you definitely should dole this stuff out in a more piecemeal fashion. You're actually starting to damage the unity, motivation, and credibility of your base. And that has its costs.

After my laughing fit subsided I decided to write a reply to this post.

Which grew.

Here it is in its entirety.

Obama In Oregon, Hillary In Limbo

by Arthur Gilroy

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The man can draw a CROWD!!!

He says some things, too.

Like this:

"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said.

"That's not leadership. That's not going to happen," he added.

HOO boy!!!

He's feelin' it now!!!

We are at a crux point.

A change point.

Is it time for a quantum leap in the American consciousness? One that will NOT be supported by large portions of the MSM?

We shall soon see.

That's some plain talk  he's talking.

As plain as that of Reverend Wright, although phrased more gently in the interests of broader consumption and easier digestion.

The last time I heard anything real from him on that level was about eight months ago (Longer?) when he addressed a group of Detroit auto execs and took them to task for not building better automobiles instead of whining about increased competition from Japan and Korea.

I thought then that such direct talk would finish his campaign.

I was wrong. It did not.

Read on for my take on how to get him the hell into the White House.

Sexism vs. Misogyny vs. Racism In This Primary Season? Sexism By A Cant Hair.

by Arthur Gilroy
Sun May 18th, 2008 at 10:16:34 AM EST

So Booman writes a post titled Sexism and Misogyny that tries to parse the difference between the two as some sort of apologia for Obama's current position. However, he ends his post with the statement "I see no convincing evidence that sexism played a big part, and certainly not a decisive part in her losses."

Hmmmm...

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I beg to differ.

First of all...as I point out below...she has NOT "lost". The contest is damned near a tie. The media...and the leftiness blogs which are now simply adjunct media when you get right down to it...have declared her a loser. The numbers say otherwise, as do the demographics of those numbers.

"According to the rules of the Dem Party?" I suppose so. It depends on which rules and how valid they are, really. Do y'all truly think that those "rules" were set up in some sort of intelligent, well reasoned, far-seeing manner? Why would one think that given the evidence of political maneuvering over centuries and centuries of human experience? These are POLITICIANS. The "rules"  were set up by hustlers who were shilling for their own interests, and you know what kind of wisdom THAT act generally carries.

None.

Rule by hustle.

May the best hustler win.

All along the way.

Secondly...awww, just read on.

Just read on.

Is the truth tasteless? I think not.

by Arthur Gilroy
Mon May 12th, 2008 at 11:03:29 AM EST

In a reply to my comment on Real History Lisa's fine post regarding the death of the so-called "DC Madam" (One of the 'last people' to see the DC Madam alive...), Bootribber martini wrote:

What's your take on the NYC fashion geek's TShirts that asks "Who shot Obama?" ?

Seems there's good reason to call those shirts tasteless, but they do also make people review the situation in their mind; determine "NO ONE!" as the answer; and possibly also leave people a bit more alert to the risk that Obama runs, if he is elected.

(The answer should remain "no one!!")

What steps, other than something like that TShirt, would you think are best for average citizens to consider taking?

This got me to thinking...out of the box, as is my habit and perhaps (God help me) my only true talent...and I wrote the following. It grew too large to be a simple reply, so I am posting it here as a stand-alone post.

Read on if you are interested.

So I'm Crazy About the Hillary/VP Idea, Eh? Pt. II-So's Obama.

by Arthur Gilroy
Thu May 8th, 2008 at 10:31:30 PM EST

Yo.

MAMA!!!

Obama is in on it.

Reuters headline:

Obama open to Clinton as possible running mate.

Read on below the fold for quotes from the article.

As far as I am concerned the fix has been in from the get-go.

Obama B.-Yo. Hil!!! First we get rid of that geek Edwards and then we run it down. Down and dirty; no punches pulled; may the best pro win. Whoever wins chooses the other as VP. Together we'll save the world. Whaddaya say???

Hillary C.-I'm in, baby. I am in Let's get it ON!!!

He's a pro, she's a pro.

Like  the bullshit hype before a big boxing match or mixed martial arts bout...it's all business in the end.

Watch 'em kiss and make up.

When money and power talk...then nobody REALLY walks.

Think I'm crazy with that Hillary/VP thing? Read THIS!!!

by Arthur Gilroy

From the Clinton media mouthpiece-in-place, George Stephanopoulous via the shamefully over the top pro-Clinton so-called "debate"-producing ABC News.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

CHARLES GIBSON: Is there any discussion of what kind of an exit strategy there would be?

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: There are various exit strategies right now. Number one would be, go out on a win. So, stay in until West Virginia, where Sen. Clinton is likely the winner, and Kentucky on May 20, and after that, bow out. Two, negotiate for the imposition of Michigan and Florida, to get those delegations seated, declare victory on that, and get out. But the big one, Charlie and this is what some people close to the Clintons are talking about: Is there a way to negotiate a settlement with Barack Obama to have Sen. Clinton on the ticket?

CHARLES GIBSON: And what do they think?

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: It's hard to know. I mean, first of all, would Sen. Obama go for it? Can he get over the bitterness of this campaign? Can he be convinced that it's the strongest ticket? Third, of course, would Sen. Clinton take it? I think if it was offered in the right way, yes.

CHARLES GIBSON: All right, George Stephanopoulos. Very interesting. Thank you.

Very interesting, indeed.
